What's the story?

Dean Ambrose recent underwent a successful surgery for his torn triceps. As a result of his injury, he may not be medically cleared to compete in a WWE ring for few weeks.

During the period he is not eligible to compete, Wrestling Inc reported WWE has decided to replace him on the cards with Jason Jordan.

In case you didn't know...

Jason Jordan teamed up with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins on this week's Raw, to face the trio of WWE Raw Tag Team Champions, Sheamus and Cesaro as well as Samoa Joe. In the match and a segment afterwards, WWE took the opportunity to write Dean off the show, with a Kayfabe injury to his arm. He had in reality been working with the injury for a while.

Dean underwent successful surgery, described by the doctor as 'straightforward' on Tuesday. He will take a while to make his recovery, though there is no timeline for his return at this moment.

The heart of the matter

Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins are in the middle of a feud for the WWE Raw Team Championships with the Bar alongside Samoa Joe. Jason Jordan has been trying to get involved with Joe as well, to prove himself to his 'father', Kurt Angle. WWE is replacing the injured Ambrose on the WWE Live Event cards, with Jason Jordan.

Jason Jordan has already taken the place of Ambrose in upcoming Live Event cards. He is also scheduled to partner with Seth Rollins on the 26th of December WWE Live Event to face Raw Tag Team Champions, Sheamus and Cesaro.

What's next?

Jason Jordan is set to partner with Seth Rollins to take on The Bar, on the Boxing Day Live Event at Madison Square Garden.

Author's take

WWE's plans for Raw, given Dean's injury, has not been revealed. Jason Jordan may continue to partner with Seth during Dean's absence on television as well.

Ambrose is one of the hardest workers in WWE at the moment, and over the years he has worked in the most number of matches. Given the rigorous schedule, and the strain it puts on a wrestler's body, an injury is not a surprise.

Jason Jordan may not be an adequate replacement of Dean Ambrose, given the dislike the crowd has for him. WWE will have to work hard to fill in the gap that Dean's injury leaves in the roster. Let's hope the Lunatic Fringe makes a fast recovery and comes back with his unpredictable offense inside a wrestling ring soon.
