WWE News: John Cena taunts Undertaker in hilarious social media post

What's the story?

Over the past few weeks, we've seen John Cena use his platform on WWE Raw to call out the Undertaker, even insulting the Deadman personally to try and provoke Taker into accepting his invitation for a dream match on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

Well, we all know John Cena likes to stir up controversy on Instagram, but his latest post might shock even his most avid fans!

In case you didn't know...

Last year, The Undertaker seemingly retired at WrestleMania after Roman Reigns defeated him to close out the show. The Deadman laid his hat, coat, and gloves down in the middle of the ring and even kissed his wife at ringside before what seemed like an emotional farewell.

Since then, the only appearance from the WWE legend was at Raw 25 when his promo seemed to confirm our suspicions that he was retired, but after there was no official word from WWE, rumours began to swirl surrounding one more match and, in particular, the one that's evaded us all over the years.

Last month on Raw, John Cena opened the show by speaking of how WrestleMania can ''bring a legend back from the dead''. While this comment was pretty vague, it shook up the internet and, one month later, Cena eventually directly challenged The Undertaker to a match at WrestleMania.

Last week, it got personal as Cena begged for an answer and threw a few jibes at the Undertaker, even insulting his integrity, before Kane interrupted and chokeslammed Cena.

The heart of the matter

Well, ahead of his showdown tonight with the other Brother of Destruction, Kane, John Cena has posted a hilarious photo on Instagram. John Cena has decided to take a poke at the sleeping bear that is The Undertaker. Almost literally.

What's next?

John Cena takes on Kane on Raw tonight. Will we hear from The Undertaker?

If you believe the rumours, probably not. WWE is expected to announce the match on the go-home episode of Raw next week. Perhaps we do get an indication that it's happening though.

I don't think I can say anything other than the photo is absolutely hilarious. John Cena is known for being a bit of a troll on Instagram, and this may be one of his greatest posts yet! Here's hoping we see more of this John Cena in the build-up to this match!
