WWE News: Kurt Angle explains why he wanted to return to the WWE and reflects on his Hall of Fame induction

Kurt Angle is loving his every moment of his return to WWE

What’s the story?

In a recent post on his official blog, Kurt Angle opened up on why he wanted to return to the WWE so badly, besides reminiscing about his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.

In case you didn’t know...

Kurt Angle returned to the WWE after an 11-year absence from the company and was an inductee of this year’s Hall-of-Fame class.

He interacted with the WWE universe at Wrestlemania Axxess throughout ‘Mania week and was declared as the General Manager of RAW by Vince McMahon on the night following WrestleMania 33.

The heart of the matter

The Olympic gold-medalist stated that he had the time of his life at WrestleMania week and then thanked the fans:

“Why did I want to return to WWE so badly, even if it was just for the HOF moment? It was because of the fans, the WWE Universe. I wanted the chance to stand on the WWE platform and give my sincere “thank yous” to a generation of fans who did so much for me. Whether you loved me or hated me, it was important to me that I was appreciated, and I hope that everyone was feeling that.”

He then went on to say that that the business has changed quite a bit, which according to him is a good thing in many ways, noting that the current WWE athletes are healthier and more vigorous. Explaining his desire to return to WWE, he added:

“The other reason I wanted to return to WWE is so my little ones could see me up on the WWE platform, just once. My oldest child Kyra witnessed it before, but Kody, Giuliana, Sophia and Nikoletta did not. It was important to me that ALL of my 5 children could know who their father was, and what kind of impact he made in the business, even though my youngest, Nikoletta, is only 5 months old. Even though she won’t remember, she was there.”

Furthermore, Angle heralded his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, as his favourite moment, stating that he loved talking about his history, giving advice to young sports-entertainers, making an impression on others and, of course, drowning himself in milk.

What’s next?

Kurt Angle currently serves as the on-screen GM of Monday Night RAW and will play an essential role in wake of the Superstar Shake-Up in the weeks to come.

Author’s take

If anyone can call themselves a Certified G and a Bonafide Stud apart from, of course, Enzo Amore, it has got to be Kurt Angle. By the way, if you guys haven’t watched his Hall of Fame induction speech and the milk-stunt that followed, you’re missing out on comedy gold. Never change Kurt!
