We are back with another exciting edition of WWE News and Rumor Roundup. Today, we have backstage reports about Brock Lesnar’s potential return, as well as the possible reason behind a former world champion being pulled out of a live show at the last minute. However, the biggest story remains Randy Orton’s gesture that won the hearts of all the fans.

Here, we look at the biggest news and rumors that have dominated headlines over the last few weeks. So, without further ado, let’s begin.

#5 Randy Orton saves young fan from getting squashed at WWE live event

WWE Universe has discovered a video from the latest UK tour in which Randy Orton was seen helping a young fan.

The one-half of the RAW Tag Team Champions was interacting with fans when he spotted a kid getting squashed against a barricade. Orton immediately stopped bumping fists with other fans and asked the crowd to go back, creating enough space for the little guy to breathe comfortably.

Randy Orton continued to instruct fans in the audience to step back until the young fan in question was safe. He then bent down to hug the kid and ordered the people nearby to be careful about their presence in such a crowded space. Although the security personnel were right behind Orton, The Viper took matters into his own hands and refused to move on until he was certain that the young fan was alright.

Earlier in the night, Randy Orton and Riddle had put their RAW Tag Team Championships on the line in a triple-threat match. However, it was this gesture that immortalized his presence during the WWE Live Event in Birmingham. Wrestling fans on the Internet praised Orton for his actions and hailed him as an example for others to follow.

#4 Update on Brock Lesnar’s WWE return

Brock Lesnar was involved in a brutal feud with Roman Reigns on SmackDown. The Beast Incarnate failed to beat The Tribal Chief for the Universal Championship at Crown Jewel. On the following episode of the Blue brand, Lesnar unleashed hell on half the roster for which he was suspended indefinitely. Adam Pearce later confirmed that Brock Lesnar would also have to pay a million-dollar fine.

Backstage reports suggest that Lesnar will be used extensively between January and April. Thus, we could see him make a big return at the Royal Rumble. The former world champion will reportedly make multiple appearances during the build-up to WrestleMania next year. He is also expected to continue his hunt for the Universal Championship when he returns.

#3 Reason why Finn Balor missed the latest WWE live event

WWE Superstar Finn Balor was reportedly pulled out from a live event scheduled to take place in Leeds. Backstage reports claim that the former Universal Champion missed the show as a preventive method. The report further claims that the issue is minor, albeit its nature isn't entirely clear.

"PWInsider.com is told that [Finn] Balor was held off today's event as a precautionary decision in order to rest what is believed to be a minor issue. There is no word what the nature of the issue is."

Finn Balor moved to RAW as part of the 2021 Draft. He also competed in an epic Fatal Four-Way Ladder match for a shot at Big E's WWE Championship. Fans are hopeful to see him featured in big matches on the Red brand moving forward.

#2 Kurt Angle picks AJ Styles vs. Finn Balor for a 'new' WWE WrestleMania main event

Kurt Angle recently revealed that he sees Roman Reigns and Randy Orton as the faces of SmackDown and RAW, respectively. While Angle believes they are the two biggest superstars, he also feels that the creative team can book an interesting WrestleMania main event without the two aforementioned names.

He said he would like to see Finn Balor and AJ Styles face each other at The Grandest Stage of Them All and trusts the two former world champions to deliver memorable performances.

"But, WrestleMania main event, a new one and one I would love to see would be AJ Styles vs. Finn Balor. I think that match would be incredible, and I would love to see that at WrestleMania as a main event. Both those guys are unbelievable in the ring," said Angle.

Balor and Styles share a long history that dates back to their time before WWE. They once delivered a memorable match at SummerSlam with no backstory, and it was one of the best in-ring bouts of the year.

The Phenomenal One welcomed Balor to RAW and teased a potential alliance. Can we see them involved in a storyline in the coming months?

#1 Xavier Woods shares his retirement plans after WWE

WWE King of the Ring Xavier Woods recently revealed major plans for his future. He admitted that he wouldn't be able to compete inside the ring throughout his life. Thus, Woods stated that he will be prepared to begin the next chapter of his life when he hangs his boots.

"I don't want to be just a wrestler. I never wanted to be just a wrestler. Wrestling is fantastic. I will love it until the day that I take my last breath and for two more minutes afterwards. I do understand that at some point, I won't be able to do this anymore. My body is finite. My career in wrestling is finite. I think that it's something you have to look at head on as far as what that next chapter of life looks like," Woods said.

Xavier Woods is currently involved in a feud with The Bloodline on SmackDown. Last week, he defeated Jimmy Uso, and the latter was supposed to 'bend the knee' following his loss. However, Roman Reigns intervened and laid out a brutal attack on Sir Kofi and King Woods.

Woods is now scheduled to face The Tribal Chief later this week. This would also be a perfect setup for the return of WWE Champion Big E and hype-up the potential clash between the two world champions at Survivor Series.
