WWE's 4 Horsewomen may go up against their MMA counterparts

What’s the story?

On a recent edition of Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, Sasha Banks spoke on WWE’s Four Horsewomen potentially facing MMA’s Four Horsewomen inside the squared circle.

"The Boss" asserted that Ronda Rousey will never be on her level in pro-wrestling and said that MMA’s Four Horsewomen have to sign with the WWE, train at the Performance Center, work in NXT, get a main-roster call-up and only then face WWE’s 4 Horsewomen.

Additionally, Banks broached the topic of the ongoing Women’s Revolution in wrestling, and said that she hopes the WWE soon introduces Tag Team Championships for the Women’s Division.

In case you didn’t know…

MMA’s ‘4 Horsewomen’ comprise of former UFC Bantamweight Champion and MMA legend Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke.

On the other hand, the WWE’s stable of the same name consists of Sasha Banks, Bayley, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.

In light of Rousey recently stepping away from the MMA spotlight after a couple of consecutive losses in the UFC, she and her friends apparently plan to pursue a career in professional wrestling and performing for the WWE.

The heart of the matter

Sasha Banks referred to herself and her aforementioned WWE colleagues as the real 4 Horsewomen, whilst simultaneously branding Rousey and co. as nothing more than ‘fans’.

In reference to rumblings of a potential ‘Horsewomen vs Horsewomen’ showdown at Survivor Series, the Legit Boss insinuated that Rousey and her team-mates mustn’t be afforded any kind of special treatment by the WWE, but instead have to go through the same developmental process as every other WWE Superstar.

Furthermore, Banks praised Rousey for being an incredible athlete and changing the game, but reiterated that the MMA icon will never match her level in professional wrestling. Besides, Banks spoke about Women’s Tag titles: "I think the sky's the limit (and) there'll definitely be tag team champions, I don't know, I honestly don't know. Anything that we want to happen will happen—I believe that.

"I feel like that's the next big thing. We need it! We need something else to fight for than just the women's championship," said Banks.

What’s next?

As we’d previously reported, Ronda Rousey has been training in her native of California, honing her pro-wrestling skills.

All signs point to RRR making her WWE debut very soon with ‘Rowdy’ and her teammates likely to face WWE’s Four Horsewomen.

Author’s take

Ronda Rousey has a ton of charisma and all the tools necessary to rise to be a main-event star in the WWE.

All the aforementioned smack-talk directed by Banks towards Rousey and the others seems to be nothing more than fight-promotion. Here’s hoping we get to see Rousey make her official WWE debut soon.
