Opinion: Why the new Bray Wyatt might work both brands

What's the story?

Bray Wyatt made his return to television this week, and while it wasn't the grand expansion of his gimmick that everyone was expecting, it did send shockwaves throughout the fanbase. Beyond that, The Firefly fun house has left fans with a lot of unanswered questions, which will hopefully get answered over the course of the next couple of weeks.

One of the biggest ones, however, is whether The new Bray Wyatt character and his kids show, The Firefly Fun House, will be Raw or Smackdown Live exclusive. The reason for the confusion is due to the fact that the segment appeared on both shows this week, thus hinting at this being the case in the future.

In case you missed it

Bray Wyatt has been missing from television for the better part of a year now and it is believed that there were a lot of reasons for this. One was that WWE just didn't have anything for him to do after the exit of WWE superstar, Matt Hardy, while others claimed it was due to him missing child payments and having an affair with ring announcer, JoJo Offerman.

Either way, WWE had been reluctant to put Wyatt back on television and now that they did, it appears as if it might be a punishment of sorts. In fact, between him referring to his former self as loser slob and the entire crux of his gimmick being a bizarre haunted house kids show, it's likely that WWE put some thought into this.

The heart of the matter

Again, there are a lot of interesting questions that WWE has to answer over the next couple of weeks, but one important one is whether Wyatt will appear on both shows or not. Then again, WWE could have just been airing a replay of the segment on Smackdown Live as part of an "in case you missed it" type segment, but it seemed to air relatively unaltered.

Another thing that points to Wyatt being on both shows is the fact that his "see you next week" didn't actually refer specifically to Raw or Smackdown Live. If nothing else, WWE could probably use this as a filler segment in the mid-card on both shows and have him actually work both shows.

What's next?

It's no secret that WWE is still trying to figure out what to do with all their competitors after the Superstar shakeup and while Wyatt appearing on both shows might be just a replay, its impossible to count anything out at this point in time. Furthermore, if WWE can make this gimmick work, which many in The WWE Universe believes he can, why would they want to contain it to only one show?

Maybe Wyatt could even do a split personality storyline and have his children's character appear on Raw and then appear as the Wyatt of old on Smackdown Live. In the end, WWE has a lot to play with here and the possibilities are truly endless when you think of all the layers that are involved in this one little storyline right now.
