WWE Night of Champions: Final match card and predictions

WWE Night of Champions is just a day away and one can hardly wait for all the challengers make a run for the championship titles. The WWE Championship will for once not feature John Cena, which is a trend most of us like getting used to.

Randy Orton, Alberto Del Rio and CM Punk and Daniel Bryan will try and recreate SummerSlam’s success, and for that to happen, we must witness something as dramatic as SummerSlam. Let us try and look into the final match card and what possibly could turn out in the much anticipated PPV.

Final match card

Predictions:

Tag Team Turmoil Match: 5 teams will face off against each other in a traditional gauntlet style match where the winner will get to face the champions in the main show.

Of the 5 teams, only two look close to winning the match as the rest are insignificant teams on the roster that have just been included for the match to look exciting. The two teams include The Usos and Prime Time Players.

The Prime Time Players, comprising of Darren Young and Titus O’Neil, are the hottest tag team of the lot at the moment. Recent events have made WWE push them as a face tag team, which many fans have responded to pretty well. Considering their present status and their recent winning streak, the PTP have to be considered the strongest challenger in this match.

The Usos have been in the title run for quite some time now and despite their valiant efforts, they never have been a threat to the Shield. They have been constantly involved with the tag titles right from the pre-show in Money in the Bank, and ever since, have tried their best standing against the Shield whenever there was a need.

The other three teams are the most unlikely winners of this turmoil match, with The Real Americans standing a step ahead of the other two. However, even their chances of winning are very low.

Predicted winner: Prime Time Players

Fatal Four Way Divas Championship Match

Total Divas is the hottest thing happening in the Divas division right now. The hit TV show involving top WWE divas like Brie Bella, Natalya and Naomi have garnered a lot of attention, and in the process made AJ Lee, who is the Divas Champion, feel less valuable.

After working towards her goal for more than a year, AJ Lee cemented herself as one of the most successful divas in WWE history. Winning the Divas Championship was a jewel on the crown of her great run, after which she looked almost unstoppable. But with a lot of attention turning towards the Total Divas, AJ felt neglected and this led to a great promo a few weeks back on RAW that ignited a feud between the Total Divas and AJ.

The three challengers Natalya, Brie Bella and Naomi are all strong contenders for the title. However, Naomi is far too young in her WWE career and she can be easily scored off this bout. Natalya, despite her family background and wrestling skills, will fall short to Brie’s fame in the company and her role in the Total Divas show. As for AJ, we can expect her to rally her unified forces of Aksana, Layla and Alicia against the Total Divas cast for a rare interesting feud in the Divas division.

United States Championship Match

Dolph Ziggler

Looking at Dolph Ziggler’s current run, one has to say that there is little chance of him winning the title from Ambrose.

It has been far too long since Ziggler won a match that mattered. The past few weeks especially have been worse, as he has only lost matches, indicating WWE’s displeasure in what Ziggler had to say about the management and Randy Orton.

As far as the title is concerned, it looks highly unlikely that it will leave Ambrose for now. Though the title has lost its value in the hands of Ambrose, Ziggler will not be the one to take that away from him for now.

Predicted Winner: Dean Ambrose

Handicap Elimination Match

One of the hottest matches of the card which is sure to deliver. With Punk and Heyman in the bout, one can expect a great story being told inside the ring. Heyman can be expected to be at his very best, delivering memorable expressions and reactions to the happenings inside the ring.

Speaking of the winner of this match, there is zero possibility that Axel & Heyman will get over Punk. After his loss against Lesnar, Punk is in need of a PPV victory and this Sunday is the right place for that.

As far as Punk getting his hands on Heyman is concerned, there are possibilities that we might witness that, but my feeling is that WWE will want to prolong this feud and bring in a new Paul Heyman guy to replace the lacklustre Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel.

Predicted Winner: CM Punk, introduction of a new Paul Heyman guy.

World Heavyweight Championship Match

Alberto Del Rio has been a very boring champion of late, and despite his great in ring skills and ability to come up with top class matches, he hasn’t managed to make an impression as a champion.

This gives Rob Van Dam a great opportunity to get hold of the title and allow this feud to grow, giving Del Rio a chance to rebuild his heel character.

Predicted Winner: Rob Van Dam

WWE Championship Match

Irrespective of what the rumours around are, there is only one way this match is ending this Sunday and that is Randy Orton walking out as the WWE Champion.

No matter how hard Daniel Bryan’s trying or how much the fans want him to win, this corporation feud must go on and the best way for that to happen is by keeping the title away from Bryan.

Expect Bryan and Orton to put on a great match, with Bryan stealing the show, but somehow Triple H & Co. will manage to keep the title in Orton’s hands.
