WWE RAW - 3 Reasons why Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt is a good idea and 2 reasons why it's not

This feud could either be really good or really bad
This feud could either be really good or really bad

As the show closed with AJ Styles moving on to the next week to get a chance to compete for the WWE Championship that Drew McIntyre now holds, it became amply obvious and evident that the next big program will feature Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt.

As appealing as the idea of these two former Wyatt Family members may be to some of you, it may just be just as unappealing to some others. And in this article, we shall discuss multiple reasons why Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt should happen and two reservations that we have about the feud.

As always, feel free to chime in with your thoughts, views, and opinions in the comments below.

#1 Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton have a ready-made storyline that lends itself wonderfully to a feud (should happen)

For a brief moment in time, Randy Orton was a member of the Wyatt Family, and yes, it was all a ploy to get Bray Wyatt to drop his guard so that he could burn down the Wyatt Compound. It is still referenced in the Firefly Fun House regularly, and when Bray Wyatt started to go after everyone he'd had beef with, we knew that it would be only a matter of time before he went after Randy Orton too.

Often, it is so hard to invest in a storyline or a match because there is absolutely no reason for us to care about the outcome. Why should any of us care about whether Sami Zayn defeats Bobby Lashley or not, when both men are on different brands, for instance?

However, because there's a storyline here, one has to be intrigued to see whether Randy Orton manages to overcome the supernatural forces of The Fiend or not.

#1 Randy Orton had expressed that he doesn't have chemistry with Bray Wyatt (shouldn't happen)

Sportskeeda was honored to catch up with the legend that kills legends, Randy Orton during a global teleconference not long ago, and the topic of a potential feud with Bray Wyatt did come up immediately.

Randy Orton expressed his view that he works well with a certain kind of WWE Superstar, and Bray Wyatt does not fall into that category:

Personally, I think I tend to perform the best with a certain type of character, type of WWE Superstar and Bray Wyatt doesn't really fit that mold. But I think with his ability to tell a story, his ability to portray the characters he's come up with so well, I think that it's something that we would have to do in the future. Hopefully, The Fiend is around for a long time and he's the new Undertaker, and I can't see how we'd miss each other if that is the case

If Randy Orton himself isn't sold, is it a good idea?

#2 Keeps both Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt away from the Championship picture for a while (should happen)

Drew McIntyre recently became the WWE Champion yet again after defeating Randy Orton and it is necessary that his reign is long and healthy and not interrupted like it was with Randy Orton's strange win at Hell in a Cell. Neither Randy Orton nor Bray Wyatt can afford to enter the feud at the moment. The former can't afford another loss, and Bray Wyatt, in particular, needs to be protected, for his character to appear strong.

Now, Drew McIntyre can mix it up with someone like, say, Riddle or even AJ Styles, a man that he's wanted to face for a really long time now. If you don't believe us, check out what he said to Sportskeeda by clicking on the link right below. You heard it right here!

As for Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt, they don't really need a title to tell a story, especially one as personal as the one that they are going to tell us.

#2 Bray Wyatt isn't a clearly defined babyface and well, Randy Orton is a full-fledged heel (should not happen)

One may consider it an antiquated notion, but the idea of good vs. evil is one that transcends the sphere of sports entertainment and exists across all media. Randy Orton is an out-and-out heel, while Bray Wyatt is somewhere between a babyface and a heel. Even though The Undertaker was a top babyface for many years on end, and so was Kane, Bray Wyatt may have a tougher time when it comes to becoming a babyface with his absolutely crazed persona.

So, whom does one root for when Bray Wyatt battles Randy Orton at their upcoming clash?

One may dispute the fact that we need someone to root for, considering that Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton have had many battles in the past with the same dynamic, but it may be a reason why the audience doesn't necessarily get invested in the feud. WWE also does not handle shades of gray well.

#3 Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt will be a masterclass in psychology (should happen)

Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt will not tell a story that consists of a hundred flips and dives, and this is why it is a good thing.

Ever so often, it happens with the current product that it becomes skewed towards the lowest common denominator because WWE has a tendency to underestimate the intelligence of its audience. Randy Orton has a lot of say when it comes to his programs, one assumes from his longevity in the company and one assumes that Bray Wyatt does too, because all his segments feel different.

We know that Randy Orton is a fan of the Firefly Fun House match that Bray Wyatt had with John Cena at WrestleMania this year.

When these two men clash, their contest will be a masterclass in psychology where the build to the eventual clash will be just as enticing as the actual match where the two veterans lock horns.

Could their match be contested in a cinematic contest?
