To be fair, even though Survivor Series is on the horizon, the excitement hasn't been felt on either WWE RAW or SmackDown yet. All of that could be set to change on this week's episode of WWE RAW if one or more of these surprises do potentially take place.

Even though Hell in a Cell was a great show with more hits than misses, the episode of WWE RAW that followed was not nearly as strong (and neither was SmackDown quite honestly). But, all of that could be set to change on this week's episode of WWE RAW, provided the company decides to amp up the action this week.

As always, leave a comment and let us know which of these surprises you'd like to see on WWE RAW, as Survivor Series 2020 draws ever closer.

#5 WWE RAW Superstar Mustafa Ali defeats Bobby Lashley to become the brand new WWE US Champion

Bobby Lashley vs. Sami Zayn just seems like a weird feud at this point in time considering their history on WWE RAW (remember Lashley's sisters? Be thankful if you don't) and the fact that because both men are cocky and arrogant heels, a feud between them would be weird. Yes, the same argument can be made for MJF and Jericho as well, but at the same time, AEW took the time to tell a story for their upcoming clash at Full Gear. In this case, there is no reason for anyone to be invested in a Bobby Lashley vs. Sami Zayn contest.

But then you throw Mustafa Ali into the mix, and Ali vs. Zayn is suddenly a more compelling match that Lashley vs. Zayn. Yes, both men are still heels, but it just feels like a more exciting contest. Could Mustafa Ali overcome Bobby Lashley to become the US Champion on WWE RAW this week?

#4 A romantic storyline between Angel Garza and Nia Jax begins on WWE RAW, which annoys Shayna Baszler

Angel Garza tried to woo many female members of the WWE RAW roster last week to no avail, until Nia Jax reciprocated his advances and accepted the rose that he offered her, in a segment that had many talking on social media.

It did remind a lot of people of the whole Enzo and Nia Jax segment from a long time ago on WWE RAW, which had also played out in this manner.

Why this storyline seems like a good idea is because Shayna Baszler seemed genuinely upset with Nia Jax reciprocating Angel Garza's feelings because she would rather have Jax focused on business and this could be the catalyst that leads to them losing the Survivor Series match. In time, it could be the reason why they lose the Women's Tag Team Championship to a more cohesive WWE RAW or SmackDown squad.

Maybe both these women enter the WWE RAW Women's Championship picture with Asuka, at a later date.

#3 Lana gets replaced by Alexa Bliss in the WWE RAW Survivor Series team

It may be a wise decision to keep Alexa Bliss away from the WWE RAW Women's Championship feud for now because that is clearly the big money fight at some point in the future. Asuka and Alexa Bliss feuding for the WWE RAW Women's Championship would be a very intriguing prospect because Asuka wins a lot more matches than she loses, and well, Alexa Bliss seems pretty bulletproof in her brand new avatar.

And to show us just how big a threat she is, Alexa Bliss could certainly destroy Lana and take her place in the WWE RAW Women's Survivor Series team, to create a sense of intrigue for the match. With all due respect to the women already in the WWE RAW Survivor Series team, it doesn't seem like the most exciting match at this point in time, but the addition of Alexa Bliss could change all that.

Or maybe Lana gets replaced after she goes through a table and is deemed medically unfit to compete.

#2 Peyton Royce confronts Asuka for the WWE RAW Women's Championship

Even though Asuka vs. Sasha Banks is the big match coming our way at Survivor Series, the WWE RAW Women's Champion does not have an opponent on her own brand right now. Conversely, if you compare the WWE RAW Women's Championship picture with the SmackDown Women's Championship one, Sasha Banks and Bayley are just tearing it up with arguably the best feud in the entire roster. Meanwhile, Asuka, for as good as she has been as the WWE RAW Women's Champion, is just performing comedy skits with The New Day.

The IIconics were obviously split up, just as The New Day and Heavy Machinery were because Vince McMahon seems a world of potential in Peyton Royce in the same way that he did in Big E and Otis.

So, could Peyton Royce step up to the plate and go up against Asuka for the WWE RAW Women's Championship in a feud that runs alongside the Survivor Series build? It could definitely be an entertaining angle.

#1 Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman show up to WWE RAW and destroy Randy Orton

But at the end of the day, the WWE RAW vs. SmackDown flavor will only be introduced into the proceedings, provided superstars from the Blue Brand show up on WWE RAW and vice versa. This is why Roman Reigns could appear on WWE RAW this week and take Randy Orton down, with Paul Heyman in tow.

Even though Randy Orton may possess the WWE Championship, it is no secret that there is a big target on his back, with both The Fiend and Drew McIntyre gunning for him, as we saw last week. If Roman Reigns shows up on WWE RAW, the current Champion could well and truly be in trouble.

Yes, both men are heels but at the same time, Randy Orton's motivations on WWE RAW seem a lot more sinister than Roman Reigns' family drama on SmackDown, making them very different kinds of heels.

A clash between these two men at Survivor Series should be interesting, to say the least.
