WWE Rumors: Randy Orton not expected to return to the ring until August

What’s he about to say?

Like a particularly mercurial stock price, Randy Orton’s speculative return date has gone from Mount Everest to the Mariana Trench in just a couple of days. PWInsider reported a few days ago that the Viper was expected to be back on WWE programming soon, but that estimate is quite off the mark.

The same source now reports that his return to the WWE may not materialise until after SummerSlam. The closest to evidence is the fact that the Apex Predator has been given top billing for a WWE Live Event at the AT&T Center in San Antonio on Sunday, August 28th.

What’s more is the lack of reports that Orton has been medically cleared to return to the ring. That’s a reliable indicator of a Superstar’s return, considering that the report of Bray Wyatt’s medical clearance predated his return by a little more than a week.

There was a lot of conjecture around whether Orton would return as the rumoured seventh contender in the Money In The Bank, but considering that the event is more of a platform for up-and-comers, that really wasn’t a cogent argument.
