With Triple H seemingly in Seth Rollins’ rear view mirror, the WWE Universe has been speculating as to whether The Kingslayer will continue using the Pedigree as his finishing move.
The Architect recently debuted a new move on Kevin Owens at a WWE live event, and Cageside Seats is speculating that that very same move may well be unveiled as Rollins’ new finisher at Payback.

Ever since the Curb Stomp was banned in the WWE, Seth Rollins has been using Triple H’s Pedigree as his finishing move. The idea was that as the chosen son of The Authority, Rollins was given the move as a sign of trust and respect by The Game.
Triple H hit Rollins’ with that same move to screw him out of the WWE Universal Championship, and it was the Pedigree that helped Rollins put Hunter away at WrestleMania 33. With that story over, it is time for Rollins to move on to a new finishing move.
The heart of the matter
Seth Rollins is rumoured to do battle with Samoa Joe, the man who injured Rollins in the build up to WrestleMania 33 at WWE Payback 2017. Whilst it isn’t out of the question that Joe may pull out the win against The Architect, most fans are predicting another morale-boosting win for the former WWE World Champion.
Cageside Seats is speculating that Rollins will end the match with a move that he unveiled at a live event recently.
The move isn’t unlike Kazuchika Okada’s Rainmaker in set-up, although when the opponent is spun round they are met with a vicious knee as opposed to a stiff Lariat. Rollins has used a springboard flying knee as a signature move since being in WWE, and this wrist-clutch knee-strike looks like a great finishing move for the Architect to use.
Fans are already speculating that the move will be called the ‘Kingslayer’, however, as Rollins used the Pedigree to defeat Triple H that name wouldn’t be entirely accurate.
What’s next?
Only time will tell whether the knee-strike becomes Rollins new finisher, but we won’t have to wait long to find out. Rollins and Joe are likely to do battle on April 30th in San Jose (California), and if Rollins is to pick up the win it may well come through this move.
The similarities to Okada’s Rainmaker can’t be denied, and that move went from fairly innocuous beginnings to becoming one of the most over moves in professional wrestling.
Author’s take
Rollins needs a new finishing move and has done for a while. Whilst using the Pedigree made sense from a storyline perspective, Rollins routinely performed the move in a sloppy manner. This wrist-clutch knee-strike looks a lot smoother and fits the character more, so there will be no complaints from this writer if it is Rollins’ finish move going forward.
