WWE Rumours: Seth Rollins babyface turn confirmed?

Triple H turned on Rollins at Raw

On this week’s Monday Night RAW, things turned a complete 180 when Triple H interfered in the Fatal-4-Way Elimination Match for the WWE Universal Championship, after he pedigreed both Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, thus allowing Kevin Owens to steal the title victory.

Before we talk about Rollins and Owens’ future in the WWE, let’s just recap the events, which lead to the Fatal-4-Way Elimination match. Finn Balor, the inaugural winner of the Universal Championship, injured his right shoulder during his match at SummerSlam. Thus, he had to vacate the title because he was to undergo surgery and was going to be out of action for at least 6 months. WWE started a knockout tournament with the final four winners competing against each other in a Fatal-4-Way Elimination Match for the then-vacant, WWE Universal Championship.

The final four winners were, Big Cass, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns.

WWE at this point had to change all their plans because of Balor’s unforeseen injury. So, WWE in a state of emergency thought of doing something really big and unexpected for this week’s RAW, and that was bringing back Triple H on Monday Night RAW, as he had been absent ever since his loss to Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 32, thus helping Kevin Owens become the WWE Universal Championship.

Rollins before the Fatal-4-Way match was positioned as a heel, and Owens was placed in the Upper-Midcard also as a heel. But, Triple H turned the entire story upside down by handing over the Universal Title to Owens by turning on Rollins, thus laying the foundations for Rollins’ babyface turn and Owens’ elevation as a mega-heel. Both Rollins and Owens came from WWE’s developmental show NXT, and both of them won the NXT Championships. Showing us just how far both of these individuals have come in the WWE.

Ever since Rollins made his return fans have been waiting for his Babyface turn, and ever since Kevin Owens got promoted on to the main roster fans have been waiting to see him as a main-event champion. This attack on Rollins will probably lead to a Triple H/ Seth Rollins feud at Wrestlemania, and once Balor gets recovers back from his injury, he can go after the Universal Title with even Kevin Owens as his opponent.
