The first Smackdown episode after WWE Payback was held in Cincinnati, Ohio as the entire WWE universe looked forward to hearing from Seth Rollins after his shocking move to betray The Shield and join Evolution. It was also the night when Bray Wyatt would address the fans for the first time since loosing the Last Man Standing encounter to John Cena. The Cincinnati crowd were also in for an Intercontinental title matchup as Bad News Barrett was booked for the night to defend his titles in a Triple Threat match.

Here are the results from the Friday Night show.

Seth Rollins addresses the WWE fans

After turning his back on Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns, the crowd was waiting for an answer from Seth Rollins himself who came out in the opening segment to start the night off. With Triple H accompanying the former Shield member, Rollins entered the ring amongst “you sold out” chants from the crowd. Rollins did talk about what he did last monday night on Raw, but he did not reveal the reasons behind his actions as he stated that he is the only person who knew why he had to betray his former team-mates. Dolph Ziggler, surprisingly, came out to a huge pop as he interrupted Triple H’s new acquistion. The Show Off labelled Rollins as a “sell out” which prompted Triple H to announce a match between Rollins and Ziggler.

Seth Rollins vs Dolph Ziggler

Rollins and Ziggler locked horns in the inaugural match of the night as Hunter watched from ringside. It was a competitive duel between the two as Dolph nearly defeated the Hounds of Justice turncoat. But Seth hit the Curb Stomp on Dolph Ziggler to pick up a win.

Winner: Seth Rollins

The duo head into backstage where they meet Randy Orton. The Viper welcomes Rollins to the “dark side.” The conversation is interrupted by Big Show who calls Rollins a “piece of trash” who sold his “soul” to Triple H. The giant wanted to see if Rollins could do to him what he did to Ziggler. Triple H stepped in to stomp his authority over the situation as he announced Big Show vs Randy Orton as the Main Event match of the night.

The Usos vs Rybaxel

The tag-team champions were in action next as they went head-to-head against Ryback and Curtis Axel in a non-title match. Usos were looking to make some grounds after their loss to The Wyatts while Rybaxel were on their route to book the no.1 contendor’s seat for the tag-team titles. The Samoans emerged victorious after a good spell of momentum from Rybaxel as Jimmy Uso hit Axel with the Superfly Splash for a three count.

Winner: The Usos

Alexander Rusev vs Xavier Woods

Alexander Rusev and Xavier Woods were in line for a match next after Rusev was honored with a gold medal on last Modnay Night Raw. The Belgian Brute emerged as the rightly honored Hero of the Russian Federation as he made a meal out of Xavier Woods. Inspite of giving his best shot, Woods did not last long as he tapped out to Rusev’s Accolade submission maneuver. Rusev registered a convincing win with Lana watching from the ringside.

Winner: Alexander Rusev

Cesaro and Rob Van Dam in action

Bad News Barrett vs Antonio Cesaro vs Rob Van Dam

Bad News Barrett was on course of defend his title for a thrid straight week as he squared off against Rob Van Dam and his assualter on Raw, Cesaro, in a Triple Threat match. With Paul Heyman at ringside, the three rivals engaged in a thrilling fight as Rob Van Dam hit The King of Swing with a Five-Star Frog Splash. But it was Barrett who took advantage of the situation by hitting the Bull Hammer on RVD and pinning him to regain his championship on the night.

Winner: Bad News Barrett

Bray Wyatt appears on Smackdown

A reborn Bray Wyatt appeared

Since losing his Last Man Standing match to John Cena at Payback, Bray Wyatt appeared for the first time on Smackdown but not without a new creepy message for the WWE fans. The Eater of Worlds stated that his loss to Cena locked him in a box and those memories had started to haunt him. But he remembers Abigail’s message who had told him that he would be reborn in this place and prove to be a leader once again. His mysterious message ends as he asks the WWE fans to join him.

Natalya vs Alicia Fox

Natalya and Alicia Fox were involved in a Divas match as both the superstars came into this fight on the back of losses. Alicia Fox went for a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker on Natalya, but Natalya made a crafty move to pin down the crazy diva. The unstable nature of Fox was in display as she threatened Lilian Garcia at ringside.

Winner: Natalya

Santino Marella vs Bo Dallas

The two unique characters in the WWE were up against each other as Santino Marella faced Bo Dallas in a singles match. But Santino could not impress Emma at his corner after he was hit by the Bo Dog which allowed Dallas to pick up a win and continue his Bolieving streak.

Winner: Bo Dallas

Randy Orton on his way to the ring with Triple H to face Big Show

Big Show vs Randy Orton

As announced earlier, Big Show was up against Randy Orton in a on-on-one match. With Triple H in The Viper’s corner, The World’s Largest Athlete went for a knockout punch on Orton, but got interrupted by Triple H. He grabbed the two of them which forced Rollins to enter and save his new team-mates. Orton delivered the RKO to Big Show. Triple H handed the steel chair over to Rollins who then launched a series of chair shots on the 500-pound giant. The three members of Evolution stood tall over a motionless Big Show as the night concluded in Ohio.
