WWE SummerSlam 2013: Predictions for the remaining matches of the card

This week’s RAW saw WWE moving ahead and adding two more new matches to the card. With only another week and a half to go, there are still a few matches that haven’t yet been confirmed.

Top wrestlers like RVD, Randy Orton and the Shield still haven’t taken a spot in the card, and this means that WWE has a lot to accomplish right from this week’s SmackDown.

The present match card has some strong matches in it, and you can have a look at the matches here.

Let us now look at the possible matches that could make their way into the final card.

1. AJ and Big E Langston vs Dolph Ziggler and Kaitlyn

After Ziggler parted ways with AJ and Big E during his transition as a face, everyone knew that things weren’t over then. AJ wasn’t too happy about Ziggler leaving and cost him the World Title shot at Money in the Bank. Last night on RAW, this feud took a new turn when Kaitlyn interfered in a match between Big E and Ziggler.

Kaitlyn chased AJ as she ran into the ring which distracted Ziggler as Big E took advantage. Though Kaitlyn didn’t expect things to end like this, she clearly looked affected by what she had done. With a Miz TV segment announced between the four on SmackDown this week, it is obvious that WWE is planning something between the four.

The match doesn’t sound too good on paper as a mixed tag match always has its own disadvantages. Irrespective of who wins the match, one can expect the feud between Ziggler and Big E to continue post SummerSlam. A well booked feud between the two can profit both the wrestlers as Ziggler can grow as a face and Big E as a monster heel.

2. Fandango vs Kofi Kingston

Fandango was left stranded without anyone to feud with and hope arrived for him last night on RAW in the form of Kofi Kingston. Kingston beat Fandango in a match and looked strong in the bout. With another loss under his belt, Fandango can look for redemption by facing Kingston again and beating him. This can start a stop gap feud between the two heading into SummerSlam.

Fandango looks a promising wrestler, and despite his hugely built debut, he has sort of dwindled down to a nobody. WWE creative has messed up big time with this guy and hopefully they use Kofi Kingston to build some momentum into his character and make him look meaningful to some extent.

3. Tag Team Championship: The Shield vs The Usos vs The Real Americans

The Real Americans, who many expected to be glorified jobbers, got a surprising victory over the Usos last night. They looked strong as a team and have improved a great deal under Zeb Colter. They showed excellent chemistry in their match, and their inclusion into the tag titles match can prove to be extremely valuable for the tag team divisions.

The Usos on the other hand, though not credible challengers, have proven that they can give fans an excellent match. Their value as a face looks low at the moment and with time maybe fans will look at them as a strong enough team to challenge the Shield.

Finally the Champions, the Shield have been unstoppable after they won their tag titles at Extreme Rules and they haven’t met a team that has threatened them ever since. This is a match that has the potential to be an absolute cracker given WWE wants to give it the required time.
