There are a number of records that could be made at this year's Survivor Series
There are a number of records that could be made at this year's Survivor Series

The Royal Rumble may be seen as the pay-per-view where the numbers matter the most, but Survivor Series is also heavily reliant on facts and figures.

Over the years there have been many records set and broken as part of WWE's November pay-per-view, with many of the current roster being sole survivors.

The likes of Jeff Hardy, Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, Asuka, Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler are all former sole survivors. While there are many more who have recently been released.

Randy Orton and The Undertaker hold some of the biggest records at Survivor Series, but many more could be added as part of this year's show.

#5. Jeff Hardy is the only sole survivor who will be competing in the traditional Survivor Series match

As noted above, there are many current WWE Superstars who have been sole survivors in the annual match. Jeff Hardy is the only man who will be looking to add to his tally this weekend as Randy Orton and Roman Reigns are set to compete in head-to-head matches.

Kofi Kingston is currently taking time away from the company after his wife welcomed their third child, whilst Dolph Ziggler hasn't been chosen for the match despite being the sole survivor twice.

Asuka is also currently out injured but it was rumored that the former Women's Champion was set to return and be added to the match, but WWE official Sonya Deville chose Toni Storm instead.

Interestingly, the company was looking to add experience to the teams this year and only chose former World Champions over on RAW since there could have been an entire team made up of former winners.

Jeff Hardy will be joining King Woods, Happy Corbin, Drew McIntyre, and a mystery fifth star as part of the traditional Survivor Series match this weekend.

Hardy was the sole survivor for his team more than two decades ago as part of Survivor Series in 2000. The Charismatic Enigma was able to eliminate both The Godfather and Christian in order to become the sole survivor for his team that day.

#4. Austin Theory and Zelina Vega will make their Survivor Series match debut this weekend

Despite both being part of WWE for several years, this weekend marks the first time that Zelina Vega and Austin Theory have been part of a traditional elimination match at Survivor Series.

Interestingly, it was Zelina Vega who brought Theory up to the main roster last year, before he was later sent back to NXT. Vega was released from the company in the fall of 2020 but has since returned and become the first-ever Queen of WWE.

Rhea Ripley and Toni Storm have been part of the show in the past when they were part of Team NXT, whilst Liv Morgan made her debut last year on Team SmackDown.

On the men's side, Austin Theory is the only superstar set to make his debut in the match. Once again, this year's Survivor Series match will only have bragging rights on the line.

#3. Natalya could break Sasha Banks' Survivor Series elimination record

Natalya already holds the female appearance record at Survivor Series but she could be looking to add another this weekend.

The female elimination record at the show currently stands at six and is held by Sasha Banks. Natalya and Asuka are not far away from the record on five.

Natalya will be part of Team SmackDown this weekend at Survivor Series alongside The Boss, but the two women may be aware that the record could be held by either of them after the show.

If Banks is able to eliminate more women than Nattie for her team then she will be able to retain the record, but if The Queen of Harts is able to make an impact for her team then the record will be hers.

The women are miles behind the men when it comes to the overall record, Randy Orton is out in front with 16 eliminations. The Viper's closest competition that is on the current roster is Rey Mysterio, who sits on just nine.

#2. Natalya continues to set her own record at Survivor Series

Natalya has been part of WWE for more than a decade and in that time she has appeared at eight Survivor Series events.

Nattie has survived in the traditional match in the past and has also had Championship matches as part of the show which has helped her build up an impressive tally.

The former Women's Champion steps into her ninth Survivor Series event this weekend, putting her head and shoulders above any other female wrestler in the company.

Nattie's closest competitors are Charlotte and Sasha Banks, who are on five appearances at present, their sixth being this weekend. Current WWE stars Naomi and Bayley are also on five appearances but will miss this year's show through injury and creative booking.

Nattie could continue to wrestle for WWE for years to come and continue to push this record forward, whilst Sasha Banks and Charlotte will be playing catch up with Nattie for the first time in their career.

#1. Randy Orton will break Kane's pay-per-view appearance record at Survivor Series

Randy Orton will compete at his 177th pay-per-view this weekend at Survivor Series which is a new record. Kane has held a record 176 pay-per-view appearances for a number of years, but this will come to an end on Sunday night.

The Viper first competed at the show back in 2003 and has since appeared at 14 events, which will be 15 this weekend.

Orton holds some incredible records on the show, including the all-time elimination record at 16, which is going to be a hard one for any star to beat.

Orton was also the sole survivor for his team three years in a row, which equals the Ultimate Warrior's record.

It's interesting that The Legend Killer will not be part of the traditional Survivor Series match this weekend since he will instead be teaming up with Riddle. The RAW Tag Team Champions will take on The Usos in the traditional head-to-head match instead, allowing some up-and-coming superstars to attempt to push towards breaking the star's long standing records.
