WWE / UFC News: Dana White comments on the chances of Brock Lesnar returning to the UFC

Brock Lesnar and Dana White appear to be business partners again

What's the story?

Just as WWE Elimination Chamber went on the air on the WWE Network last Sunday, UFC President Dana White set social media on fire with a picture of him and Brock Lesnar with Lesnar wearing a UFC shirt. Wrestling Inc. is reporting on an interview that White had with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio on Tuesday and Lesnar was brought up.

In case you didn't know...

Lesnar has nine professional fights under his belt with a record of 5-3. The ninth fight against Mark Hunt was overturned due to a failed drug test. Eight of his nine fights have come within the UFC, only his first professional fight was outside of the company.

The heart of the matter

Just minutes into the start of Elimination Chamber, where we would know who Brock Lesnar would face at WrestleMania, Dana White posted the following on Twitter as well as Instagram:

The hosts on the SiriusXM show asked White what the chances were that Lesnar would return to the UFC. White answered with, "they're very, very, very good."

The last time Lesnar fought in the UFC was at UFC 200 in July of 2016. He defeated Mark Hunt by unanimous decision, but the win was later overturned after Lesnar failed a post-fight drug test. By deciding to return to the UFC, Lesnar would still have to wait for another six months to complete the suspension.

What's next?

Before any UFC talk can happen, Brock Lesnar still has a Road to WrestleMania to go on. He'll face Roman Reigns on April 8th in New Orleans, Louisiana. At the time of this writing, it is not known when Lesnar will make his next appearance in the WWE.

Author's take

Brock is a big draw wherever he goes, but I think he might be wearing out his welcome with the WWE Universe. Holding the WWE Universal Championship for over a year with very few defences for the main title on Monday Night Raw is the main reason.

One has to wonder how much he's got life in terms of the UFC to be able to compete with their top heavyweights. One thing is for sure, a lot of eyes will be on the product for his return fight.
