Cesaro challenges Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship tomorrow night at WrestleMania Backlash.

It's been more than a month since WrestleMania, where Cesaro was able to overcome Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns defeated both Edge and Daniel Bryan. Given the caliber of their victories at The Biggest Show of the Year last month, it comes as no surprise that these two men will be competing in the main event at WrestleMania Backlash.

Roman Reigns is already one of the company's most decorated champions just nine years into his main roster career. Cesaro hasn't fared as well as the former Shield member and is now looking to pick up his first World Championship.

As ever, there are many combustible elements heading into this match at WrestleMania Backlash. The likes of Paul Heyman, the Usos and even Edge could play a decisive part in the future of the Universal Championship.

The following list looks at just five potential finishes for Roman Reigns vs Cesaro for the Universal Championship tomorrow night at WrestleMania Backlash.

#5. Cesaro wins his first WWE World Championship at WrestleMania Backlash

Cesaro has all of the momentum heading into his Universal Championship match tomorrow night. He has shown Roman Reigns that he has the ability to overcome the numbers game as well, The Swiss Superman could be a dark horse this weekend.

Cesaro has been a favorite of the WWE Universe for many years. Reports suggested that the company remained reluctant to push him because his promo ability wasn't on par with his ability in the ring.

After a decisive win over Seth Rollins at WrestleMania, Cesaro has been on a fantastic run. He was even backed by former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan, before Roman Reigns forced him off SmackDown a few weeks ago.

It's likely that WWE will want to leave the title on Reigns for a little longer, since the star is currently heading towards 300 days as Champion. However, Cesaro could take advantage of the current issues in Reigns' group heading into WrestleMania Backlash.

Cesaro has been able to turn Reigns' recent issues into his own favor. It allowed him to send a message to Reigns on SmackDown when he hit Jey Uso with two Neutralizers. Will this be Roman Reigns' fate tomorrow night at WrestleMania Backlash?

#4. Roman Reigns retains the Universal Championship at WrestleMania Backlash

Roman Reigns has held the Universal Championship for almost 300 days and will be looking to extend this reign this weekend at WrestleMania Backlash.

Reigns has overcome some incredible obstacles as Champion already. A major one saw Reigns pin both Daniel Bryan and Edge just over a month ago to walk out of WrestleMania with the Championship.

Reigns has often relied on the services of "Main Event Jey Uso" over the past few months. But when the spotlight is on the Champion, he makes sure that he delivers. That is what the WWE Universe has seen throughout his reign.

This weekend will be no different. While The Tribal Chief has some family issues that he needs to attend to, he is the kind of star who is able to put this aside and focus on the task at hand.

It's hard to see Cesaro being the man to end Roman's Universal Championship reign, especially since The Swiss Superman has all of the momentum heading into WrestleMania Backlash.

#3. Jimmy Uso costs Roman Reigns the Universal Championship at WrestleMania Backlash

After more than a year on the sidelines, Jimmy Uso made his return to SmackDown ahead of WrestleMania Backlash. Jimmy Uso has had some issues with Roman Reigns in recent weeks, even though he was welcomed back into the family upon his return.

It was Jimmy who cost Seth Rollins his match against Cesaro last week on SmackDown. This result set up the main event match for tomorrow night's WrestleMania Backlash.

Last night on SmackDown, it was made clear that Jimmy won't step in to help Roman Reigns but he will get involved if his brother needs his help.

Tomorrow night could be decisive for Jimmy Uso and it could be the former Tag Team Champion who goes on to cost Roman Reigns his Championship. Uso has been a thorn in Roman's side since his return, so it will be interesting to see if their feud takes a step forward on pay-per-view.

#2. Seth Rollins looks for revenge against Jimmy Uso at WrestleMania Backlash

As already noted, Roman Reigns isn't the only superstar that Jimmy Uso has been able to annoy on the road to WrestleMania Backlash. Uso was the man who super-kicked Seth Rollins last week on SmackDown to set up the Universal Championship match between Reigns and Cesaro.

Rollins wasn't featured on this week's episode of the show. This could be because The Messiah was busy coming up with a plan now that his feud with Cesaro has seemingly come to an end.

If Jimmy Uso is at ringside with his brother Jey tomorrow night at WrestleMania Backlash, he could be targeted by the former World Champion. This would definitely lead to Roman Reigns being distracted.

Jimmy Uso and Seth Rollins could have an interesting feud on SmackDown. A DQ finish would allow Reigns to retain his Championship but then force a rematch for Cesaro heading into Money in the Bank.

Seth Rollins and Jimmy Usos would be fantastic additions to the Money in the Bank ladder match next month and this would be the perfect setup.

#1. Edge returns and interferes in the match at WrestleMania Backlash

The Rated R Superstar has plenty of reasons to want to interfere in the Universal Championship match at WrestleMania Backlash. Edge was defeated by Roman Reigns back at WrestleMania last month and hasn't been seen on WWE TV since.

Edge won the 2021 Royal Rumble match, earning him the right to face Roman Reigns in a one-on-one match. The singles match was something he wasn't given. Instead, Daniel Bryan was added to his match.

Edge could argue that the additional man was the reason he was unable to pick up the Championship. Both Daniel Bryan and Edge were pinned by Reigns last month, but Bryan has since been taken out of the equation, which leaves a straight route to Reigns for Edge.

Edge could return to WWE this weekend at WrestleMania Backlash and send a message to whoever holds the title when the bell finally rings. The former 11-time world champion never lost his title back in 2011 and he will be once again looking for a way to reclaim it heading into Money in the Bank.
