Juan Soto blasts two HRs as the Yankees seal another series win in 2024

The New York Yankees sealed another regular-season series win on Saturday night, thanks to Juan Soto and starting pitcher Luis Gil. While Soto quashed his recent slump at the plate after crushing two home runs against the Chicago White Sox, pitcher Luis Gil struck out a career-high 14 batters to help the Bombers win the tie 6-1.

Juan Soto ended his slump at the plate by going four for four, scoring two runs, driving in three, and blasting two long home runs. The Yankees scored four home runs on the night with their offensive muscle on full display.

Soto commented on the team's offense, saying:

"This is great. We have been doing a great job, we prepare ourselves to be in the best spot when we come into the games. All around we have been doing great job and I hope we keep doing it."

Next, the news commentator from YES Network asked Soto about the efforts he put in Friday's BP session and what helped him achieve his first multi-HR game with the Bronx Bombers and 18th overall in his big league career. He said:

"I can't tell you that. I can't give you my secrets but definitely I was working on my swing, you know just trying to catch up with the swing that I had in the beginning of the season and trying to make sure to help the team win more games."

Soto talked about how great he felt watching the baseball fly over the right-center field stands twice in the game and finally showered high praise on pitcher Luis Gil's dominant six-inning outing which aided the Yankees seal another series victory.

Juan Soto has adjusted well in the Bronx as the Yankees will look to sweep the White Sox on Sunday

The Yankees are 32-15 for the season and sit atop the AL East standings with a healthy .681 win percentage this season. Juan Soto has breathed fresh life into a Bombers unit that struggled in both aspects of the game last season failing to even secure a wildcard spot.

Soto is now batting with an average of .317, with 11 home runs 37 RBIs, and .975 OPS this season for the Bombers. He will look to continue his searing offense on Sunday as the Yankees will start Carlos Rodon on the mound in the series finale against the White Sox.

Carlos Rodon is 4-2 this season with a 3.31 ERA and 1.22 WHIP and will look to seal a series sweep for the Yanks at home on Sunday.
