More details about College Football 25, the long-awaited return of CFB to gaming consoles keep being released.

The game will be published by Electronic Arts, one of the biggest studios in the gaming industry, with it being the first covering college football since 2013 when its prior franchise, NCAA Football, was terminated.

In a press release dated May 17th, the studio gave a sneak about some of the new features the game will contain.

Among these features is a new Campus IQ (EA trademark) system that will better simulate each football program's uniqueness. A sub-feature of this will be a new wear-and-tear mechanic that was explained as follows in the press release:

"As the hits add up, players wear down with the Wear & Tear System. Manage your players’ health, limit fatigue, assess risk of injury, and avoid on-field mistakes by using strategic substitutions to ensure your players are at their best when it counts the most."

Another mechanic of the Campus IQ will be a pre-snap recognition system which will feature in the level of experience of players when executing a play and a home-field advantage mechanic which will make games on the road significantly more difficult.

Which will be the game modes in College Football 25?

EA has revealed there will be four game modes besides the regular exhibition game mode.

These will be Dynasty, Road to Glory, Road to College Football Playoff, and College Football Ultimate Team.

Dynasty mode

As usual, this mode will allow you to create your coach avatar and take control of a college football program. You will be in charge of recruiting, setting the schedule, developing players, and setting the strategy for the games.

Road to Glory

Create your college football player and play out his career, win a natty or the Heisman Trophy. This time around you will have to take care of your GPA, earn your coach's trust, and manage your public image. Could some NIL action be involved? We'll see.

Road to College Football Playoff

This one is vaguely explained in the press release, but it seems it will allow you to pick programs lower than Division I. Here's a direct quote from the press release:

"Experience a new way to play competitively across consoles in the Road to the College Football Playoff. Will you represent your university, or take a power school to climb the polls? Earn rank by upsetting the toughest opponents and securing the votes you need to progress and level up divisions. Play your way into the playoffs and battle for the National Championship."

College Football Ultimate Team

One of the most popular game modes across EA Sports titles.

Here you can create your customer football team including players from across different programs and legends to clash with other online users. The better you play, the better players you have access to.
