Twitch star Zack "Asmongold" has commented on Blizzard Entertainment's decision to nerf "frog farming" in WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria. For context, World of Warcraft Remix: Mists of Pandaria is a limited-time event that allows players to experience the expansion. This also features a brand-new currency called Bronze, which is used to upgrade gear and purchase various in-game items.

Recently, however, players discovered that a specific mob, packs of frogs, in the Timeless Isle can be collectively killed to farm large amounts of Bronze. On May 19, 2024, Blizzard Entertainment released a hotfix that nerfed "frog farming."

During a livestream earlier today (May 20, 2024), Asmongold shared his thoughts on the situation and said:

"Obviously, somebody at Blizzard needs to figure out, how, like, basically... there's a big question at Blizzard - does anybody actually test the content? And so far, the answer to that seems to be no."

Asmongold says Blizzard did the "right thing" by nerfing "frog farm" in WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria

At the six-minute mark of the livestream, Asmongold looked into what netizens on X were saying about the "frog farm" being nerfed in WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria. Reading some of the comments out loud for his audience, the Twitch streamer said:

"'This is a bad move.' 'Reinforcing every time something like this comes about, you should take advantage as quickly and as much as possible. Wish I didn't put it off for a day.'"

According to Asmongold, everybody" understands how to "exploit" game mechanics "early and often." He elaborated:

"Yeah, I mean, this kid is stupid. Like, bro, you have WoW in your name and you don't know that 'Expoilt early and exploit often?' Like, I'm sorry, man. But, you're dumb. Like, you should've known this. Everybody knew this was going to happen."

The co-founder of One True King (OTK) then claimed Blizzard Entertainment did the "right thing" by nerfing the "frog farm." He explained:

"Blizzard did the right thing. I know that there are a lot of people crying in the chat, and mad about this. But the truth is that, yes, they did. So, the reason why Blizzard did the right thing is because every single day that they left it in the game, there would only become a widening and larger gap between the people that were farming it and the people that were not."

Asmongold added:

"And it would become so extreme that by, I'd say next week or two weeks from now, you'd have people that had so much health and so much damage that they could literally solo every raid, and they would just be selling carries for, like, gems or for real money. And the entire event could be completely ruined."

Asmongold is one of the most popular Twitch streamers and now broadcasts exclusively on his alternate channel Zackrawrr. He has also livestreamed World of Warcraft for over 8,180 hours on the platform.
