“Farewell beer is on me” - Marco Reus gives nice surprise to Dortmund ultras after celebrating final league game in style

Marco Reus made an incredible gesture to surprise Borussia Dortmund fans after playing his final home game for the club on Saturday (May 18).

Reus started the game against Darmstadt, which was also his last league outing for Dortmund. He scored a 38th-minute free-kick in the 4-0 win. Reus was taken off in the 81st minute and received a rapturous goodbye.

After the game, Reus made his way to the Yellow Wall at the Signal Iduna Park. He celebrated with supporters who held up a banner for the club legend that read (via SportBIBLE):

"Your name stands for identification and loyalty- danke Marco!"

Reus, meanwhile, paid for beers for all the Dortmund fans. He left a letter, which read:

"Thanks for everything! Farewell beer on me:)Your Marco"

Marco Reus had a good performance in his final Bundesliga game for Borussia Dortmund. Apart from scoring, he also set up a goal. The UEFA Champions League final against Real Madrid will be Reus' final game as a Dortmund player.

Marco Reus' Borussia Dortmund career

Marco Reus joined Borussia Dortmund from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2012. He made 427 appearances for the Black and Yellow, scoring 169 goals and providing 130 assists.

Reus has won five trophies with Dortmund. He has the chance to win the UEFA Champions League against Dortmund, who take on record 14-time winners Real Madrid in the final on June 1 at the Wembley.

Reus has also played 48 times for Germany as well, scoring 15 goals and providing 14 assists but has often been unlucky with injuries. He missed out on the 2014 FIFA World Cup winning squad due to injury, having been initially selected for the team.
