Liverpool fans paid tribute to outgoing boss Jurgen Klopp with a loud rendition of You'll never walk alone ahead of his final game in charge on Sunday (May 19). The Reds marked the occasion with a 2-1 home win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The affable German has etched his name in Anfield folklore by transforming the fortunes of the club since his arrival in late 2016. From a mid-table club, the Reds became one of the most formidable sides in England and Europe under Klopp.

The German won every title available with the Reds, except the UEFA Europa League, where they fell 3-1 to Atalanta in the quarterfinals this season. It was only apt that the Reds brought down the curtains to their glorious Klopp era at Anfield.

Acknowledging the German's role in the club's success in the last decade under him, fans sang the club's famous 'You'll never walk alone' anthem. Here's the video of the same, as uploaded by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano:

Coming to the game itself, summer signing Alexis Mac Allister opened the scoring inside 34 minutes before Jarrel Amorin Quansah doubled their advantage six minutes later. The win meant that the Reds finished third, nine points behind champions Manchester City (91).

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp knows that he received a special reception from fans ahead of his final game in charge of the club against Wolves. It was also apt that he became the first Reds manager in 96 years to win his last game in charge.

Klopp ends his historic tenure at Anfield with 299 wins in 471 games in charge. After the win over Wolves, the German told the club's website that he has had a 'special' relationship with the club:

"No, I don't think it's normal. I knew for a long time already that our relationship was pretty special. I love that. I really think that the people made a different for this club. ...
"These people are the club. So, obviously we had a really good time together, nine years, nearly a decade. It was absolutely crazy. Kids who today were in the stadium, kids of the staff who were today in the stadium and I saw after the game, they don't know another manager of Liverpool FC. That's how it is – they just think I was always there and will always be there, and now I'm gone."

Jurgen Klopp faced 75 different opponents at Anfield, only failing to beat Real Madrid, Sion and Sevilla.
