The UFC Vegas 92 event witnessed a unique finish in one of the preliminary fights of the card. Melissa Gatto and Tamires Vidal locked horns in a bantamweight scrap on May 18 at the UFC Apex facility in Enterprise, Nevada.

In the third round of their fight, Gatto hit her opponent in the chest region, which visibly hurt Vidal. Gatto followed it up with multiple strikes, leading to a TKO finish for the 28-year-old.

The unusual finish caught the attention of several MMA fans, who shared their reactions on social media.

One individual jokingly asked as to why more female fighters did not adopt this technique to score a finish.

"Crazy, why don't female fighters do this more?"

One fan suggested that Vidal could have possibly suffered a torn pectoral muscle, which resulted in the stoppage.

"[Not gonna lie]... It seems like it was from the wild right haymaker [possible torn pec?] more than the punch???"

One user compared the finish to a fight ending via a strike to the groin area in a men's bout.

"Equivalent to knockout via n*t shot."

Gatto later appeared at the post-fight press conference where she shared her thoughts on the finishing sequence. She stated that she had witnessed Vidal reacting in a similar manner in her previous fights. Thus, she decided to throw follow up shots before an intervention by the referee.

"I watched the last fight of hers, always she feels [like] that and she always try to stop the fight but [the referee] said to me, 'Don't stop. You go.' And I go, I finish, I get my victory."
