Coco Gauff and her mother Candi treated themselves to pizza in Rome following the World No. 3's exit from the 2024 Italian Open. The 20-year-old showed off her fashion flair during the outing, donning a stunning pink and blue ensemble.

Gauff was on the hunt for her second WTA 1000 singles title at the Italian Open, beating the likes of Magdalena Frech, Jaqueline Cristian, Paula Badosa and Zheng Qinwen to set up a blockbuster semifinal clash with Iga Swiatek.

However, Gauff's hopes were dashed by Swiatek, as the Pole continued her dominance against the 20-year-old with a commanding 6-4, 6-3 victory to notch up her 10th win in 11 encounters.

The World No. 3 went one step further in her doubles campaign alongside partner Erin Routliffe, reaching the final in Rome. However, the duo failed to clinch the title, as home favorites Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini triumphed 6-3, 4-6 [10-8] in a riveting final.

Putting the losses behind her, Coco Gauff embarked on a lunch date with her mother Candi to indulge in some local pizza. Sporting a stylish pink top and denim shorts, the 20-year-old was all smiles as she posed alongside her mother.

Gauff would've undoubtedly cherished her mother's support during her Italian Open campaign, having previously spoken highly of the calming and positive presence her mother brought to her matches.

"No, she's great. She knows me very well. I think she knows me probably better than anyone. She always has such a positive attitude. She keeps my dad calm too in the box. I don't think he would have gotten through today if she wasn't sitting next to him," Coco Gauff said during her 2023 Indian Wells campaign.
"Yeah, she's like one of those people that just mediate the whole situation and I'm glad that she was able to make it out," she added.

After winning her maiden Grand Slam title at the 2023 US Open, Coco Gauff credited her father Corey for her triumph, despite enduring persistent efforts to 'tear them apart" by skeptics who questioned his role in her coaching setup.

"That man has supported me through so much. People always tried to tear us apart, saying he didn’t need to be in my box or he didn’t need to coach me anymore. Little do they know, he’s the reason I won this match,” Coco Gauff said in her post-match interview.

The American also hailed her parents as her support system, acknowledging her father's scouting reports and expressing gratitude for her mother's encouraging presence.

"My parents, they’re really my support system, helping me remember my clothes and everything. My dad is still sending me scouting reports every match. My mom is more so just being mom. My dad just being dad," Gauff said.

Coco Gauff will be on the hunt for her second Grand Slam title at the upcoming French Open. The American has enjoyed previous success at the claycourt Major, finishing runner-up to Iga Swiatek in 2022.
