For Athletes, the potential to be noticed and go viral on the platform is what sets TikTok apart from all the other apps out there. Back in the day, the only shot athletes had to get noticed were nationally televised competitions or a Power-5 program.
With the arrival of TikTok, it has leveled the playing field in a sense now any athlete that is dedicated to their craft and is putting in the work on a consistent basis, has a chance to get noticed and even picked up by professional teams for trials. Following the Winter Olympics in Tokyo, a lot of Olympians have gone viral on TikTok for their behind-the-scenes footage of the Olympics. As of now, there are over 15.3 billion views on #athlete.
