The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection bids adieu with its season 2 finale

In episode 16 of The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection, Matthew Lee gave a presentation to kick off episode 16 at the grand opening of Tikitaka City and LUCA. After saying hello to the audience, Min Do-hyeok instructed Go Myoung-ji to place the damning video on the laptop.

In the meantime, Han Mo-ne turned herself in to the authorities and confessed to murdering her spouse. She also acknowledged that she had a child named Han-na and that she had set Bang Da-mi up for it.

The situation in the K-drama escalated when Do-hyeok arrived at the gathering and questioned Matthew about how he killed Yang Jin-mo. People gathered in front of Do-hyeok to shield him from gunfire as he revealed more of Matthew's falsehoods on the event's screen. Jin-mo appeared with severe injuries as Matthew continued to lie.

They had successfully completed the procedure on Jin-mo and located him as a donor. He did, however, make a full recovery and live, albeit they kept this fact from the public. Matthew felt like everything was spinning around him. He grabbed a soldier's pistol and started shooting people randomly.

Meanwhile, the prosecution demanded that Matthew unlock his AI system, LUCA, and prevent it from accessing people's personal data and publishing their messages on a global scale. When Matthew refused, Do-Hyeok took control of it, erased all of the AI's data, and shut it down.

After being detained and facing charges, Matthew expressed regret to the court and requested the judge for leniency. Nevertheless, the court sentenced him to death after taking into account his misdeeds.

After getting sent to his prison cell, Matthew heard sounds outside his jail cell, and then his cell door abruptly opened. Upon exiting his cell, he noticed that Do-Hyeok and Ki-tak had both arrived at the prison cell where they killed Matthew.

The finale episode of The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection then flashed forward ten years to a brawl between two high school girls over allegations that their parents were involved in Da-mi's case. Meanwhile, Jin-mo and Myoung-ji had a son and a daughter. They adopted Mo-ne's daughter Han-na and loved her beyond measure. They were happy with their life and owned a Chinese restaurant.

The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection episode 16 also showed Mo-ne returning from jail after serving her sentence. She started living with her mother who couldn't recognize her after 10 years due to her illness. Nevertheless, her mother was injured when they went into the woods and needed to be transported to a hospital.

On the other hand, Do-Hyeok became in-charge of a big company that was doing well and provided assistance to orphanages. He found out that Mo-ne was seen at a hospital. Meanwhile, Mo-ne spoke with her mother after bringing her to the hospital, and the latter finally acknowledged her. Sadly, her mother passed away in her sleep after they had an emotional conversation before falling asleep next to one another at the hospital.

After 10 years, Mo-ne called her daughter Han-na to tell her about her grandmother's demise. Meanwhile, Han-na called Do-Hyeok and they all hurried together to the village where Mo-ne was hiding. The Escape of the Seven: Resurrection came to an emotional yet bittersweet end with Mo-ne reuniting with her daughter and others.
