While Billie Eilish has established herself as a successful singer-songwriter, the 22-year-old can best be described as a jack of all trades, especially in the entertainment industry. Acting is one of the creative activities Eilish participated in as a child. In a 2019 interview with Rolling Stone, the Ocean Eyes singer opened up about how she tried acting but ended up hating it. The next thing Eilish tried was recording background dialogues for crowd scenes in movies, which was the singer-songwriter's role in Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

Besides acting and recording voices in movies, the Lovely singer has also dabbled in other art forms before settling on music as her career choice.

Billie Eilish recorded background dialogues for crowd scenes in several movies besides Diary Of A Wimpy Kid

Talking about her experience with acting in her 2019 Rolling Stone interview, Billie Eilish revealed how she "hated" it, further saying:

"I went on, like, two auditions. So lame. This creepy, cold room. All these kids that looked exactly the same. Most actor kids are psychopaths."

Eilish also shared how she had more fun looping-recording background dialogues for crowd scenes, saying:

"I did Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Ramona and Beezus, X-Men. It was fun, a bunch of kids in a room yelling random things, and then we'd have a break and get snacks."

The bad guy singer then remarked that it was not all that different from what she did now.

Billie Eilish might not have liked acting back when she had to audition as a child, but when she was approached by the directors of Amazon Prime Video's Swarm in 2022, the singer was ecstatic. In her 2023 Variety interview, she revealed that, as a child of actor parents, she had grown up acting in plays but didn't pursue it as her career as a musician took off, further saying:

"I was like, 'Oh, I don't wanna do this anymore.' I did, but it's always been a deep thing that I've been reluctant to talk about because I thought I was really bad."

Following her acting debut in Swarm - in which Eilish played the character of Eva - her cameo was largely praised by her fans and audiences alike. On February 18, 2024, the singer-songwriter also received the TV Performance of the Year award at the People's Choice Awards.

Whether or not Eilish's fans will see her in more acting roles moving forward remains unknown at the moment. But one thing is for sure, the singer is great at anything artistic that she touches.

Before Billie Eilish became a singer, she wanted to be a dancer

Before Billie Eilish began singing professionally, she wanted to become a dancer. In her 2019 Rolling Stone interview, Eilish stated that she had been dancing seriously for several years, learning different dance forms, including hip-hop, jazz, ballet, tap, and contemporary.

But as she started getting better at it, Eilish suffered a hip injury that ended her dancing career forever. Describing the scenario of her injury in the interview, the singer-songwriter said:

"Basically, before you're 16, the cartilage in your hip isn't firm yet. It's still growing. I was in a hip hop class with all the seniors, the most advanced level."

Billie Billie Eilish’s hip injury happened around the same time her music career started taking off, which the singer described as “funny,” further saying:

“When anyone else thinks about Billie Eilish at 14, they think of all the good things that happened. But all I can think of is how miserable I was. How completely distraught and confused.”

Billie Eilish concluded the interview by admitting that 17 was “probably the best year” of her life and has never looked back . Recently, her third studio album – Hit Me Hard and Softwas released, and her fans are eagerly waiting to see which one of its tracks hits the Billboard Hot 100 first.
