American Idol is currently airing season 22 and is set to find its latest winner tonight on Sunday, May 19, 2024. The finale segment will see whether Abi, Will, or Jack take home the title.

The segment saw several guest appearances from eliminated contestants of the current season to former winners. This included Nick Fradiani, who won the singing competition in 2015 as he sang a melody from his Broadway show, A Beautiful Noise.

The season 14 winner is currently the lead singer in A Beautiful Noise, based on the life of Neil Diamond. The American Idol alum was cast in the role of a young Diamond in 2023 and is set to lead the musical's North American tour later this year. As per Playbill, the tour will start at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, Rhode Island in 2024 fall.

Nick returned to the show after nine years and took to social media earlier this week to announce his season 22 finale appearance. He wrote:

"I loved music and performing back then, but somehow that passion has grown exponentially throughout these 9 years. Sunday night I get to return to the Idol stage and perform almost a decade later. So excited to reconnect with my Idol fam!"

"My life totally changed"- American Idol alum Nick Fradiani takes to social media

American Idol season 14 winner Nick Fradiani took to social media recently to announce his upcoming return to the ABC show. In the post, he said he was set to return to the singing competition nine years after taking home the prize and detailed how the show helped advance his career.

Nick wrote:

"9 years ago my life totally changed. It's been an incredible journey since May 13th of 2015. So many highs and so many lows, but @americanidol taught me so much, especially about work ethic and truly never giving up on a dream."

The American Idol alum further wrote that he loved music and "performing back then." Nick added that over the past nine years, his passion had grown "exponentially" and noted that he was set to return to American Idol.

American Idol wasn't Nick's first time on a reality television competition as he previously appeared on Battle of the Bands in 2011 as part of Beach Avenue. He was the lead singer of the singing group and also appeared on America's Got Talent in 2014.
