AEW star Ricky Starks recently suffered an unfortunate loss. He informed everyone about this tragic happening via his social media handle.

Ricky Starks has been a prominent name in AEW since he joined the promotion back in 2020. He is a former AEW World Tag Team Champion and also a former FTW Champion.

The 34-year-old star has been absent from the Jacksonville-based promotion for a while but has been giving updates about his life on his social media accounts. Recently, he shared a very heartbreaking update with his fans. Starks took to X/Twitter to inform fans that a good friend of his from high school passed away recently.

"Just found out my good friend from high school passed away…regret not going out for a drink with him last week…"

Amid this unfortunate happening, fans would be sending out their prayers to Ricky Starks and hoping that he recovers from this loss as soon as possible.


Ricky Starks explained being absent from AEW

Ricky Starks recently had an interview with WhatCulture. During the interview, he was asked if he would make an appearance at the AEW Double or Nothing 2024 Pay-Per-View. The 34-year-old star replied that he did not know for sure.

"I don’t know. I would hope so. But I really don’t know. Things are... every time I always predict something to go some way, it doesn’t go that way, and it kind of just leaves me being like, well, we’ll just figure out and see. I really have no clue. It’s just a very interesting time, I feel like. I wish that I was on Dynamite, or I wish I was on Dynasty," Ricky Starks said.

The last time Starks appeared on AEW TV was on March 30, 2024. He and his tag team partner, Big Bill, took on Top Flight, consisting of Dante Martin and Darius Martin, in the quarterfinals of the AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament in a losing effort.
