A released WWE Superstar has teased coming to AEW after Christopher Daniels was fired on Dynamite. The name in question is Trevor Lee, aka Cameron Grimes.

Grimes was an integral part of NXT, where he held the NXT North American Championship and was also the final Million-Dollar Champion. The company released him in April 2024 and made him a free agent.

Lee replied to a tweet by Matt Sydal after he wrote about the firing of his tag team partner, Christopher Daniels, on Dynamite. Trevor asked Sydal if he needed a new partner in AEW.

“So what you’re saying is you need a tag partner?” he wrote.

It will be interesting to see if the former WWE star makes the jump to AEW. If that happens, Tony Khan will have a great wrestler on the roster.

Former WWE star EC3 had a Cameron Grimes prediction

Former WWE star EC3 has made a bold prediction regarding Cameron Grimes's wrestling future.

On Sportskeeda Wrestling’s The Wrestling Outlaws with Chris Featherstone and Vince Russo, he said that Grimes would be a good trainer when he retires from the sport.

"He would be a very good coach and he will be one day, so I think that might always be the back-up thing they say, 'You'll have a job for life,'" EC3 stated. "He'll probably be a coach too. He's got a great mind. It's really ahead of its time, at least when I worked with him in TNA, conceiving finishes, where somebody that probably lied to him, who doesn't understand the business, notices that about him," he said.

It will still be a long time before that happens, given that Grimes is just 30. Now that he has been released from the Stamford-based promotion, he will look to move to a big company.
