On Thursday, April 18, 2024, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for the Plus-Sized Elf anime shared the first promotional video for the series. The short clip revealed the main staff and confirmed the title's July 2024 premiere. Notably, Elias is producing the upcoming anime.

Plus-Sized Elf anime is an adaptation of mangaka Synecdoche's eponymous Japanese comedy manga series. The author launched the series on the Comic Gum site, where it ran from December 2016 to May 2021.

After that, a continuation series titled Plus-Sized Elf: Second Helping was serialized in Akita Shoten's Dokodemo Young Champion magazine, with eight volumes released.

As mentioned earlier, the official staff for the Plus-Sized Elf anime unveiled the first promotional video of the series on Thursday. According to the short video, the anime is slated to release in summer 2024, i.e., July 2024. However, an exact release date has yet to be revealed.

Interestingly, the PV teases the anime's plot and shows why the chubby elf, Erufuda, must remain in the human world. The short video begins with Erufuda meeting Tomoatsu Naoe, the deuteragonist of the series.

Besides Naoe, the PV features other important characters, such as Kuroeda, the dark elf, and Oga, the ogre. Undoubtedly, the trailer doesn't fail to show Erufuda's insatiable love for junk food.

Although she exercises, her unhealthy diet cancels out her effort. Filled with side-splitting comedy, the PV brings out the essence of the anime. Moreover, the trailer previews character voices for the first time.

Ayasa Ito, the renowned VA, stars in this anime as the main character, Erufuda, while Takahide Ishii plays the role of Tomoatsu Naoe. Rena Hasegawa, a budding talent in the industry, voices Kuroeda, aka the Dark Elf, while Ayaka Fukuhara features as Oga.

As stated before, the PV has revealed the main staff members for the anime. Toshikatsu Tokoro, renowned for his contributions to titles such as Soul Link, Hunter X Hunte: G I Final, and others, is directing the anime at Elias Studios, with Katsuyuki Sato designing the characters.

Yukiko Ario is listed as the color designer, while Yuki Takabayashi is in charge of the series' scripts. Shinobu Takahashi lends features to this project as the art director, while Yoshikazu Miyagawa is credited as the composing director of photography.

Other staff members include Takayuki Yamaguchi as the sound director, Keisuke Yanagi as the editor, and Cher Watanabe as the music composer.

Based on Synecdoche's original comedy manga series, Plus-Sized Elf anime centers around a chubby elf, Erufuda. One day, she goes to a massage therapist named Tomoatsu Naoe to lose weight. However, her insatiable desire to consume unhealthy junk food prevents her from accomplishing her goal.
