One Piece episode 1102 begins with Kuma flying above the sea, only to end up crashing into the Red Port located at the base of the Red Line. His presence scares citizens who recognize him as the Invincible Slave of the Celestial Dragon and have heard of his escape from the Land of the Gods.

Despite severe injuries, Kuma is shown as determined to continue on his journey. Meanwhile, the Navy soldiers try to evacuate the citizens while approaching Kuma with caution because they do not know his present programming.

In the lab, Vegapunk reveals to Sanji's group that he is the World Government's target because of his intelligence. He has made numerous inventions, including Sea Prism Stones, Cyborg Animals, Pacifistas, Seraphim, and many more, which have proven to be extremely valuable to the government.

Thus, his death would be a significant blow to the government. However, they would prefer this over the risk of the world’s greatest intelligence turning against them. He then claims that it was fate that the Straw Hats arrived since he could escape with them.

One Piece episode 1102 then shifts focus to Luffy’s group that has just reached the Labophase. While Atlas is being attended to, an enraged Bonney looks for Vegapunk with a metal pipe in hand.

She states that if Vegapunk’s response to her request to restore her father’s humanity is sending bugs after her, then she is left with no choice but to kill him. Chopper realizes she is unfairly blaming him for her own misdeeds.

Meanwhile, in One Piece episode 1102, viewers see that despite the Navy's orders for the CP0 to wait until they reach the island, Lucci is eager to complete the mission. He is of the opinion that waiting for reinforcements would give Vegapunk a chance to escape.

With Sentomaru taken care of, the Authority Chips of the CP0 are back in action, implying that they now control the Seraphim. Labophase's strong defense system, however, stands in the way of them eliminating Vegapunk and his satellites.

Back at the lab, Vegapunk's satellites realize that the CP0 is trying to block all of their escape routes from Egghead. Shaka wishes they could have snuck out, while Lilith is eager to retaliate, even though Pythagorus assures them that they are safe in the lab. Vegapunk acknowledges that their current goal is to escape, but he also sees that a fight is inevitable.

Pythagorus then proposes seeking help from their sole remaining ally on Egghead. Edison, however, immediately rejects this idea, arguing that if this individual reveals themselves now, they will be hunted by the World Government. But Vegapunk shamelessly pleads with his secret ally for help, and the ally accepts.

Confident in the mysterious ally's ability to take care of the CP0, the satellites start making preparations for Vegapunk to board Straw Hat's ship and move the ship to the port using Vegaforce-01.

At the Labophase, they discover the Thousand Sunny, and Lucci looks forward to destroying it.

In the previous episode, Sentomaru was seriously injured but remained conscious, maintaining control over the Seraphim. For this reason, when Lucci tried to attack him again, Luffy intervened, using a new attack named the Gum-Gum Dawn Whip. He was also seen unleashing another new Gear 5 attack, called the Gum-Gum Dawn Rocket, which left Lucci unconscious. Following this, Luffy, along with Chopper, Jinbe, Atlas, and Bonney, took the Vacuum Rocket to Vegapunk's lab.

However, Lucci regained consciousness just as Sentomaru fell unconscious. In the meantime, Vegapunk revealed to Sanji's group that he was able to artificially create Devil Fruits. He clarified that only Zoan-type fruits can be duplicated, though he was not certain about their Awakening.

He confessed that he was unsuccessful at replicating Logia types. Yet, for Paramythia types, he found that by acquiring the user's Bloodline Elements, he could create a special Green Blood that could transfer the powers to another individual.

Vegapunk then declared the Seraphim as the pinnacle of human evolution. Nami understood that this was the reason behind the dissolution of the Seven Warlords System, which led to the other Straw Hat members criticizing Vegapunk for developing such powerful weapons for the Navy.
