Australian javelin thrower banned for missing doping tests

Commonwealth Games javelin champion Jarrod Bannister has been banned for 20 months for missing drug tests.

Bannister, 28, missed three tests within 18 months, which is treated the same as a positive test, reports Xinhua.

His ban will run to Feb 18, 2015.

Bannister won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi in 2010 and was sixth in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
