Azhar has been covering Indian Football at Sportskeeda for around 4 years. He holds a degree in Journalism and has a previous work experience working for top companies like Republic World, Chennaiyin FC, Mumbai Indians and the Jaipur Pink Panthers.

A writer with a passion for his craft, Azhar reckons that the ability to maintain a positive interpersonal relationship is an important tenet of being a journalist. Some of his career highlights have been interviewing ex-Mohun Bagan star Fran Gonzalez, who also praised Azhar's interviewing skills on record and called him one of the nicest journalists he had encountered. Covering the entirety of Mumbai Indians’ 2024 Women's Premier League campaign, and Jaipur Pink Panthers’ Pro Kabaddi League season were his other career landmarks.

Lallianzuala Chhangte and Aakash Sangwan are two of the best footballers Azhar has ever interacted with. When he is not following Chennaiyin FC, he keeps tabs on FC Goa for their attacking style of play.

He believes there is a need to increase funding at the grassroots level in India, and a merit-based national team squad selection would help the Blues Tigers qualify for the FIFA World Cup. He likes to wind down by watching stand-up comedy shows and occasionally playing cricket.
