MLB releases Armed Forced Day Caps for May 18, 2024

MLB will once again celebrate Armed Forces Day across all the ballparks with a game on May 18th. To pay respects to the veterans of all the Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Army, the MLB released special Armed Forces Day caps for all 30 major league teams.

Take a look at some of the cap designs here:

Each cap will have the particular team's crest in the center, with six golden stars around the logo. The team logo will have a camo-green military aesthetic to pay homage to war veterans.

Fans had mixed reactions to the official release, as a few wanted their team to be exempted from wearing the caps. Some others voiced their dissatisfaction, stating the previous iterations were better than those released for the 2024 campaign.

Take a look at some of the fan reactions from X (formerly Twitter) here:

"As long as you don’t make the Blue Jays wear them," commented one fan.
"Why even make these? What does the military have to do with baseball?" Chimed in another user.
"Not a fan. The last two years have been spot on." A fan said regarding the current iteration.

On the other hand, many fans voiced their excitement after the release and gave their approval for the same. Look at some of those comments here:

"Much better than recent ones. Not bad at all," one fan commented
"These are sick. The first thing all season I’ve seen the MLB actually hit on correctly in 2024," another fan commented
"What a collection," yet another fan commented

All 30 teams will wear these caps on May 18, across 15 ballparks.

The Blue Jays Armed Forces Day cap has a notable exception

While all the MLB teams will have a similar kind of design for their Armed Forces Day caps, there is a notable exception with the Blue Jays hats. Instead of an American flag patch, they will feature a Canadian flag patch inside the Armed Forces logo on the side of the hats. The Armed Forces logo also features two lightning bolts crossing each other.

The caps for all 30 major league teams are available in an array of styles, including low profile, fitted, and adjustable, on Fanatics and MLB Shop. They will be available in each ballclub's official stores soon.
