Gavin Lux busted his knee while running between the bases against the San Diego Padres on February 27.

Lux injured his right knee while ducking under a throw from third base to second base. He tripped and fell knee-first into the ground as the Dodgers' dugout looked on in shock. On the ground, it looked like a serious injury as he was helped up from the dirt, and was taken off the field in a medical cart.

The worst-case scenario for the Dodgers materialized on Tuesday when it was discovered via MRIs that starting shortstop Gavin Lux had torn his right ACL and LCL, ultimately terminating his 2023 season.

Lux was obviously in a lot of discomfort and wouldn't be able to leave the field when manager Dave Roberts arrived to check on his shortstop. He informed Roberts that he felt "a pop" on the outside of his knee, Roberts said after the game. The trainer's cart was requested right away by the Dodgers.
