MLB Spring Training is in full flow as teams prepare for the regular season. World champions Houston Astros will take on the New York Mets in the February 28th game set to be played at First Data Field, the home facility center of the Mets, from 1.00 pm ET. We'll be looking at alternative streaming options for the matchup.

The Houston Astros are currently 1-1 this Spring Training season, having won against the Mets on the opening day before losing to the Nationals. On the other hand, the Mets have gone 2-1 coming back from the opening day loss at the Ballpark of Palm Beaches, the Astros' home facility center.

Different streams are available to view the game, out of which the most popular remain MLB TV and MLB.com. The MLB TV subscription has three options: monthly, annual, and single team.

The monthly stream allows a user to view all out-of-market games and more than 250 Spring Training matches monthly at $24.99. The same benefits are also available in the annual subscription, which costs $149.99 annually. The single team option includes all the regular season games and extra Spring Training games that would cost $129.99 for the season.

Apart from the MLB TV option, each team has its own local broadcaster. For the Mets, the SNY Network and Pix 11 own the broadcasting rights. The Astros have AT&T Sportsnet as their official broadcast partner.

Other streaming options are also available, including video streaming services such as fuboTV and Vidgo. FuboTV, which has been streaming games since 2020, has a $74.99 monthly subscription and streams major channels like ESPN, Fox, and TBS. With Vidgo, fans can catch various local and nationwide streams for $79.95.

Free streaming service options for MLB Spring Training

If users don't want to empty their pockets and catch a game for free, plenty of free streaming websites enable watching the game without a paid subscription. Not all websites would require a VPN service, but some streams on these websites might require one to stream the games from certain countries freely.

Buffstreams is a major free streaming service where a regularly updated list of different MLB live streams provided by the service can be viewed. Another free streaming service is Sports Surge Streaming, which shows specific teams' matches for free for the entire season.

The Astros would be looking to bounce back from their loss to the Nationals. The Mets will look to keep the momentum going with their star-studded roster ready to make a deep run into the playoffs. Moreover, Justin Verlander returns to face the Astros as a Met, having won two World Series and a Cy Young award with Houston.
