World Series champion Justin Turner becomes Red Sox fan-favorite with his new Instagram post

Before even donning a Boston Red Sox uniform, Justin Turner is making sure to cultivate a fanbase.

In December, Turner and the Red Sox reached an agreement on a two-year contract, positioning the star player for a key position on the Boston team.

The veteran's presence in the clubhouse has drawn a lot of attention, but Turner also seems to know how to charm the crowd. In a recent Instagram image, the former Los Angeles Dodger revealed his current allegiances by sporting a Nomar Garciaparra t-shirt and sipping from a "Wicked Smaht" mug.

Previously, Turner played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, and Baltimore Orioles in Major League Baseball.

Justin Turner is being missed by the Dodgers

On the West Coast, Turner was a favorite. He played with the Dodgers for nine seasons, participated in three World Series, and helped Los Angeles snap their 55-year championship drought.

Even though they only played together for one season in 2022, it's obvious that Turner had an effect on six-time All-Star first baseman Freddie Freeman.

The Cincinnati Reds selected Turner in the seventh round of the 2006 MLB draft, where he debuted in the big leagues in 2009. He won the 2017 Most Valuable Player Award for the National League Championship Series while playing for the Dodgers and was an All-Star in 2017.
