"Elon Musk built SpaceX and Tesla at the same time, and I'm not competent enough to do a podcast after a game?"- Draymond Green says his commitment is unfairly questioned due to off-court duties

Draymond Green has often been called out for taking up a new interest. The Golden State Warriors forward has commented on the constant bashing, citing examples of how great innovators have developed several products at the same time.

Not many are thrilled with Green's off-court activities, especially some of the people in the media. He has often been told to focus on basketball.

The backlash reached an all-time high during the 2022 NBA Finals. Green was asked to focus on the series rather than record a new episode of his podcast.

It was more intense after the Warriors lost, or if Green had a poor game. Nonetheless, the 4-time NBA champ believes it is a lack of respect for athletes that encourages such actions from fans.

On "TC Disrupt 2022," he addressed the issue, naming two leaders in the tech space who took on several projects simultaneously. He wondered if he was not competent enough to host a podcast while people managed two multi-million dollar companies at the same time.

"Jack Dorsey built Twitter and Cash App. Or I think he acquired Cash App, Square at the same time. Elon Musk built SpaceX and Tesla at the same time. We're talking four of the greatest companies in modern history. They did that at the same time.
"And I'm not competent to do a podcast after a game? And so, it shows you the level of respect, or lack thereof, for athletes."

Green has not let the comments distract him, as he has continued to release new episodes. He also featured on LeBron James' "The Shop" before the start of the season.

Draymond Green has an active contract with TNT

NBA on TNT is arguably the most fun coverage of the NBA, and Green has signed a contract with the show. The big proponent of "new media" has continually shown his interest in talking about basketball whenever he has the chance.

Although he is still an active player in the NBA, he has made occasional appearances on the show alongside Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley.

Many believe Green is being prepped to take over in Barkley's stead. Chuck has expressed a desire to retire even though Shaq does not want him to leave.

Not many have the willpower to take on two projects simultaneously and deliver on both ends. However, that is not the case with Green.

Although it cannot be said for sure if the Warriors forward is hitting the milestones set for his podcast, he has no such problem with playing. Green has continually delivered when necessary and has been crucial to the team's success.

Every athlete has off days, and it was the same for Green during the 2022 playoffs. He was accused of giving out his team's strategies and received most of the blame whenever the Warriors lost a game.

However, Green assured the NBA community that was not the case. He proved it with an improved performance and helped the Warriors hoist the 2022 championship.
