Kyrie Irving has become a major topic of discussion in the media and not because of his performances on the basketball court. Many have questioned his stance after posting a link to a film that had anti-Semitic views. Irving’s actions since have sparked debates on social media and amongst sports analysts and fans.

On the ESPN podcast “Swagu and Perk", hosts Kendrick Perkins and Marcus Spears discussed their thoughts on the situation. Perkins feels that if Kyrie is serious about his mission, he may need to step away from basketball.

"I didn't say Kyrie Irving was a bad person all I'm saying is you can't expect someone to stop everything that they're doing," Perkins said.
"Brother and you want to go and be heavily involved and teach and be this leader and teach about Heritage I'm all in for it but why not do it full-time? Do It full-time."

Perkins expressed the idea that if Kyrie wanted to commit so badly to his idea, maybe he could pursue it full-time. Irving is unlikely to do this because there is such a large salary at stake and it appears that he really wants to play basketball.

Do the Nets welcome Kyrie back?

A lot has changed for the Brooklyn Nets over the past two weeks. The team has fired Coach Steve Nash and Kyrie Irving is serving a suspension. Irving is serving a five-game suspension, pending the fact that he meets the terms set out by the organization.

The team is 3-1 since Irving was suspended, with new head coach Jacque Vaughn now in charge. The team led by Kevin Durant appears to now have an offensive identity and able is also able to defend well also. Would Irving’s return disrupt the rhythm that the Nets have now found?

The team will have to see because Irving is too good of a player to have on the floor. He is averaging 26.9 points per game this season and could only add to their offense. All he has to do is come in and work with a new scheme that is already going well.

The good news is that coach Jacque Vaughn is familiar with Kyrie Irving, having been on the staff for the past few years. Vaughn has already shown he has the faith of the other team members. If Irving can add back to what has already been good then the Nets could make some waves in the Eastern Conference.
