Draymond Green speculates the consequences if they’d lost 2022 NBA championship: “Ni**as, f**k you ni**a, I heard it all”

Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors had a rough go to start the 2022 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics. After losing a game at home and going down 2-1, the Warriors were in need of a big performance. With Klay Thompson in the midst of his first postseason since returning from a grueling layoff and Draymond Green admittedly rattled, they needed an all-time performance.

Steph Curry delivered. In Game 4, Curry put up 43 points on the road to lead his team to a 107-97 win. The road victory marked a major turning point in the series. In Game 5, the Warriors once again defeated the Celtics by 10 (104-94) before then closing out the series 103-90 on the road in Boston in Game 6.

On "Throwing Bones," Green said he was rattled in Game 3. He had heard pretty much every racist and derogatory name in the book from Boston fans and wasn't sure how to handle it. Fortunately for him and the Warriors, Steph Curry delivered.

"At Game 3, I was f*****g rattled," Green said. "I heard everything you could possibly hear in that arena: 'N****s.' ... 'F**k you, n***a.' I heard it all. I've been booed damn near in every arena in the NBA, (but) that was a different thing. So, going into Game 4, down 2-1, I'm just like, I just need to come in here and stabilize myself."

He gave Steph his props for carrying him throughout that game.

"Shoutout to the GOAT, Steph Curry, because in Game 4 I still wasn't myself," Green said. "But I rallied enough to be better. And then he carried me. And I feel like his performance – and this is just what I wanna think in my own head 'cause I know how I've got his back and I know how he got my back – his performance was all so I didn't get murdered."

As Draymond Green said, after his rough Game 3 performance, he found himself benched in Game 4. Had the team lost, most of the blame would have seemingly been placed on Green as the member of the team who was performing the worst.

Thanks to Steph Curry, however, the legendary performance was enough to swing momentum back their way. After the win, Green put up impressive stat lines in the final two games. In Game 5 he was nearly on triple-double watch, while in Game 6 he went to work on defense and as a facilitator to close out the series.

This season, the Warriors are on a mission to go back-to-back and win their second straight championship.

Although they have struggled at 14-15, it seems as though the franchise is hoping to pick up momentum as the season progresses. However, they'll have to contend with losing Curry indefinitely to left shoulder subluxation. He is expected to be out at least a few weeks, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Below you can see highlights from their most recent loss, 125-119 to the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.
