Miami Heat's Markieff Morris has finally spoken about his altercation with Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokić after the two came to blows earlier on in the season.

The incident took place when the Nuggets and the Heat took on each other in a matchup earlier in the season. Morris first made contact with Jokić's midsection as the center was dribbling the ball up the floor in what can be perceived as a cheap shot from the Heat player as the Miami-based side were getting blown out on the night.

Morris subsequently turned his back and walked away from The Joker only for the Nuggets superstar to come back at him and make contact from the blind side. Markieff Morris was asked if he had heard from Nikola Jokić after the incident and he said:

"F**k, no, I don't want to hear from him. He did what he did. It is what it is."

An on-court altercation soon ensued as the benches of both the teams were cleared out with Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo wanting to have a word with Jokić. The situation escalated to family members of Markieff Morris and Jokić being involved in an exchange on Twitter.

Morris hasn't played since the incident as he is clearly still nursing the effects from the altercation.

Nikola Jokić continues to have a fine season for the Nuggets and is almost single-handedly keeping the franchise in the playoffs spot this season. What is remarkable is that his performances have been without the second and third best player on the Nuggets roster as Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. have missed extended time due to knee and back injuries respectively.

At the age of 27, Jokić is at the peak of his powers in terms of performances and physical attributes as he has missed only seven games this season. That is in a season where all the superstars seem to be succumbing to injuries that have sidelined them for an extensive period of time.

Jokić is currently having a phenomenal season for the Nuggets, as he is averaging 26.1 points, 13.9 rebounds and 8.1 assists while shooting the ball better than 57% from the field and nearly 35% from beyond the arc and over 80% from the free throw line.

Along with this, Nikola Jokić is on track to record the highest PER (Player Efficiency Rating) in the history of the NBA as he is currently rated 32.64. While this isn't a perfect stat, the sheer fact that he is beating the likes of Michael Jordan and LeBron James at their absolute best is a testament to the greatness of Jokić.

All these reasons make Nikola Jokić a red-hot favorite to win the MVP award back-to-back.
