Gilbert Arenas comments on Ben Gordon making news for stabbing people: “He’s not that Kanye bipolar, that fake one”

After finding out about the incident regarding Ben Gordon, former NBA player Gilbert Arenas shared the difficulties of being a bipolar athlete. Arenas even went on to compare Gordon's situation with Grammy-award winning artist Kanye West.

In the clip, Arenas was interviewed about his thoughts on the stabbing incident that was caused by Gordon attempting to stab random people. Following that, the former player shared his experience with some bipolar athletes.

"I think he might be bipolar. He's a real bipolar, he's not that Kanye [West] bipolar, that fake one. This is a real bipolar," Arenas said.

Arenas also shared his experience working out and talking to Gordon in the past, as they were both big-named players in their primes:

"When you're bipolar and you're an athlete, you gotta remember, you can run down the rabbit hole of that sport. Getting better, watching film, there's so many things that keep you occupied and that under control. You got the medical staff, making sure you're gonna get the medicine every day. You have this wall around you, where you don't have episodes. Cause you gotta remember, you're being monitored every day.

"When these players are done, who's giving them the stuff? So now, you're gonna have a guy who hasn't been on his meds, two, three weeks. You gotta remember, them two, three weeks, he's never had that in his life. This is a whole new new human being. Yeah, he's Ben Gordon. But, this is a Ben Gordon that no one knows because he's never been this person."

So far, there have been no new updates as to how the former Sixth Man of the Year winner is doing. But there's hope that he will soon find the proper help he needs.

Ben Gordon showed incredible promise early in his career when he was selected by the Chicago Bulls with the third overall pick in the 2004 draft. At the conclusion of his rookie season, the 6-foot-1 shooting guard won the Sixth Man of the Year award after a stellar start to his career.

Gordon averaged 15.1 points and two assists while making 41.1% from the field and 40.5% of his shots from downtown. Those stats earned him a chance at making it to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.

The scoring guard reached his highest scoring average in his third season. Gordon averaged 21.4 points, shooting 45.5% from the field and 41.3% from beyond the arc. In 2015, he was out of the NBA and no one knew of his whereabouts until recently.
