Luka Doncic trash-talking Shai Gilgeous-Alexander & Thunder fans after blocked shot

Game 5 between the Dallas Mavericks and OKC Thunder was intense on Wednesday, and Luka Doncic got the last laugh. Throughout the game, he was calm and not complaining to the officials about missed calls, which set the tone as the Mavs showed maturity.

Doncic had a great game as he led all scorers with 31 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists in the 104-92 win. He was the only player for the Mavs who reached the 20-point mark. Derrick Jones Jr. came close with 19 points, while All-Star Kyrie Irving continued to struggle with 12 points as he had only 11 shot attempts.

The Mavs controlled the pace on both ends. The players moved the ball around and didn't allow the Thunder to gain momentum. On the defensive end, Doncic wasn't a weak link as he even got a chase-down block on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. After the block, a post on X showed how the Slovenian star talked trash to the opposing star.

"Give me that sh*t… f*ck yea!" Doncic yelled as he blocked SGA on the transition play.

After that play, Doncic had a bit of fun with the Oklahoma City crowd. As he made his way to the Mavs bench, he had some words for the fans watching him from courtside:

"Thank you for paying and watching me."

Fans are aware that Doncic loves to talk smack during games. His trash-talking skills are as lethal as his overall game on the floor. Not only can he rile up opposing fans when he talks trash, but he adds insult to injury with how dominant he is on the court.

Dallas has a chance to close the series in Game 6, which will be on Saturday in Dallas.

Luka Doncic talked about how he interacted with the referees in Game 5

What surprised most fans about Luka Doncic in the last game was his attitude towards the officials. Throughout the game, Doncic wasn't asking for fouls, complaining or criticizing the referees. The star was focused on playing his brand of basketball and only had three free-throw attempts during Game 5.

When asked about this, Doncic's answer was straightforward.

"It was intentional. Just focus on basketball," Doncic said. "I talked with them normally without complaining or anything. I think it was nothing the whole game. I just go out there and hoop, and have fun. It was the old Luka with a smile on my face."
