Joel Embiid was withdrawn early in the Philadelphia 76ers’ 116-91 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday. Embiid played just 16 minutes after complaining to Philly head coach Doc Rivers about tightness in his right calf.

“The Process” reportedly started feeling the tightness in Philadelphia’s matchup against the Bulls on Monday. Philly lost in double overtime with Embiid playing 44 minutes.

Embiid is now questionable when they visit the Golden State Warriors. He was reportedly limited in practice ahead of the encounter against the defending NBA champs. He will be monitored during this morning’s shootaround and later in pre-game warmups.

Rivers wasn’t alarmed about the calf injury though. The head coach told the media that Embiid’s early exit was more on the team exercising caution rather than the severity of the injury.

Embiid will likely be a game-time decision, considering the Philadelphia 76ers are playing their first game of a back-to-back.

“The Process” hasn’t missed a game since March 1 when the Philadelphia 76ers decided to give him the night off. He played heavy minutes as he carried the surging Sixers towards the top of the Eastern Conference.
