Kyrie Irving argues with Brooklyn Nets reporter about his anti-Semitic post, clarifies stance on Alex Jones – “Don’t dehumanize me up here”

Kyrie Irving got into an argument with an ESPN reporter about his recent Twitter post. Nick Friedell asked 'Uncle Drew' whether he supports Alex Jones' antisemitic beliefs. The Nets star immediately shut down Friedell's question. The reporter continued to press Irving about his beliefs.

Kyrie Irving felt disrespected by Friedell's persistence. Irving tried to change the subject. He told Friedell that he has the freedom to post whatever he wants. Whether someone agrees or disagrees with him is irrelevant.

Irving did not take kindly to the accusations of antisemitism. He is under fire for promoting an antisemetic book called "Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America."

"Can you please stop calling it a promotion? What am I promoting? I put it out there just like how you put things out there right? Let's move on. Don't dehumanize me up here."

Irving explained that he posted about the book because he agreed with some of its content. That doesn't mean he fully supports the movement.

Due to his unorthodox beliefs, Irving has been called out on numerous occasions for his point of view. He previously shared his belief that the earth is flat. He was ridiculed on social media for months after the fact.

Irving says he is a believer in all religions. He clarified on Twitter that he's an Omnist. Antisemitism does not reflect his values. Many of his fans on social media have expressed distaste with the way he is behaving. They are calling for him to act "normal" and to just focus on basketball.

We can't really blame Nets fans for questioning Kyrie Irving's dedication to basketball. The Nets are playing awful. They are 1-5 to start the season. But that doesn't mean Irving isn't getting the job done.

The Nets star is averaging 29.6 points, 4.4 assists, and 5.4 rebounds through six games. The losses aren't on him. He's doing his part to get the Nets out of their slump.

He was lights out when the Brooklyn Nets faced the Dallas Mavericks on October 28. He posted 39 points, four assists, seven rebounds, three steals, and four blocks in the overtime loss.

He's also scored 30 or more points in games against the Indiana Pacers, Memphis Grizzlies, and the Toronto Raptors. It's safe to say his controversial beliefs aren't impacting the way he performs on the court.
