New York Knicks vs Indiana Pacers Game Summary

Back and forth went the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers in the first quarter. Miles McBride had a surprising opener, dropping 11 points for the visitors while Donte DiVincenzo added 11. The Knicks took a slim 30-29 advantage after the first 12 minutes ended.

The Pacers simplified their offense against the undersized Knicks by repeatedly going to Pascal Siakam. "Spicy P" often found himself guarded by Josh Hart, Donte DiVincenzo, or even Miles McBride on switches. Tyrese Haliburton consistently went to him and it paid off.

Siakam finished the half with 15 points and caused a lot of chaos every time he found a teammate for an open shot. A 17-5 run to end the second quarter allowed the hosts to take a 61-51 lead before both teams exited for the halftime break.

The third quarter started with a free throw for the New York Knicks that Jalen Brunson converted. Andrew Nembhard who got tangled with Miles McBride in the last second of the previous period was called for the said infraction.

Any momentum carried over by Donte DiVincenzo's triple and the technical foul free throw didn't help much. The Indiana Pacers had an answer to everything the desperate Knicks tried to throw at them. It didn't help for New York that Josh Hart could hardly move due to what might have been an injury suffered in the first quarter.

After three quarters, it was the Pacers holding an 88-75 lead and all momentum on their side heading into the final frame.

The New York Knicks kept fighting but when Jalen Brunson entered the game with 7:31 remaining, the Indiana Pacers were already ahead 102-82. With Brunson back, the visitors made a little run but had too little time. Tom Thibodeau raised the white flag with roughly three minutes to go.

For the second straight home game, the Pacers blew away the Knicks, coasting to a 116-103 win to force a Game 7.

Jalen Brunson, Donte DiVincenzo, Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam's 3-pointers tonight

Jalen Brunson's rough-shooting night included a zip from three tries from deep. Donte DiVincenzo was New York's most efficient gunner in the first half, making 3-for-6 shots from the same distance.

Pascal Siakam also didn't do well from that range, misfiring both of his attempts. Tyrese Haliburton fared much better, going 2-for-4 from deep during the same stretch.

Brunson and DiVincenzo had similar lines of 3-for-8 in 3-pointers in Game 6.

Siakam did not make another attempt in the second half but Haliburton improved his clip to 3-for-8 on Friday.
