Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry has expressed his thoughts on what he felt when he got injured during the game against the Dallas Mavericks.

It goes without saying that at this point in the season, Curry is the Golden State Warriors' most vital player. Unfortunately for the Warriors, Curry's availability has been limited this season. After sustaining a shoulder injury earlier in the season, the Warriors superstar found himself back on the injury report after a game against the Dallas Mavericks.

Curry was seen walking off the floor in the third quarter of the game after hurting his leg on a layup attempt. Although the Warriors came away with a win, their superstar was expected to be sidelined for a while.

Prior to Monday night's game against the Washington Wizards, Steph Curry spoke about his injury and his initial thoughts on when he sustained it.

"At first, it felt like it was a normal contusion. Wasn't a real serious one so I went to the bench and thought I could just shake it off. Then I got up from the bench and it felt like something different, like, 'Nah, that's not right.' So we had to go back and check it. Did all the tests and all that."

He added:

"I knew it was something more than just a normal contusion just because I couldn't put any weight on it. Was just kind of hobbling around. Thankfully, there weren't any broken bones or anything. Just the ligaments were kinda dicey."

Steph concluded by saying:

"You don't know how long it'll take for it to get truly healed so that you can get back out there because it's not something you can play through if it's not healed."

While there hasn't been a timeline for his return, reports suggest that the superstar will be re-evaluated after the All-Star break. With one game before the break and a handful of tough matchups later, the Dubs will hope for some good news regarding Curry's health.

Steph Curry is essential to keeping Golden State's playoff aspirations alive

Steph Curry played some inspiring basketball before being sidelined with an injury. In 38 games this season, Curry has notched an average of 29.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 6.4 assists. These numbers are hard to replace.

With Curry out of the rotation, the Golden State Warriors have struggled to settle into a rhythm. Although the team managed to notch up a number of wins during his previous absence, they did so during a massive homestand. This is not a luxury Golden State will enjoy moving forward.

With an upcoming road game against the LA Clippers awaiting the Dubs on the second night of a back-to-back, the team will need to see greater contributions from their role players.
