The 2008 Finals MVP also assured his fans that the surgery on his right ring finger went well. According to him, he dropped a weight onto the finger, which is how he broke it. His right pinky finger didn't suffer much as it was only bruised.

He expressed his appreciation for those who reached out to him and thanked them. He told his followers that it would take a few weeks for the finger to recover.

Looking at Paul Pierce's notable career injuries

Paul Pierce was one of the toughest scorers in the league and wouldn't back down in front of anyone. He led the Celtics to a title in 2008 but suffered quite a few injuries before he won the chip.

Back in 2000, Pierce was a young up-and-comer in the league. He had just finished his sophomore year where he elevated his game as a scorer. However, before the 2000-01 season started, 'The Truth' suffered an unfortunate injury. He was stabbed 11 times at a nightclub in Boston.

Fans feared for the worst when this happened to Pierce, but he recovered quickly and played all 82 games of the season.

"My stabbing incident really motivated me to be on the court," Pierce said. "I wanted to just be on the court, keep my mind off it. It really helped me lock in. Some things you go through in life really help you lock in, to do what you really need to do."

In 2008, while playing against their longtime rivals (LA Lakers) in the finals, Pierce had to be wheeled out of the court as he reportedly suffered a sprained ankle. However, he quickly returned to the game, which re-energized the team and led them to win the series.
