Golden State Warriors president and general manager Bob Myers has done a wonderful job since joining the team in 2011. However, the latest rumors suggest that contract extension talks with Myers are on hold despite his expiring deal at the end of the season.
Citing his sources, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Myers' contract will end in June. Warriors ownership have had discussions with Myers about a new contract, but both sides are taking a break from negotiations.
"My entire focus is on the season and the team," Myers told ESPN.
Warriors owner and CEO Joe Lacob also commented on the situation:
"We love Bob and hope he is here for a long time."

Bob Myers has won two Executive of the Year awards during his tenure with the Golden State Warriors. He’s among the best executives in the league, with Adrian Wojnarowski comparing his situation with Masai Ujiri of the Toronto Raptors in 2021.
Ujiri had an expiring deal, and the Raptors were unable to agree on a new contract till the final weeks of the season. If Myers becomes available, he will likely be among the most coveted executives in the NBA.
However, Myers is a Bay Area native and has a great relationship with the Warriors ownership, as well as coach Steve Kerr. Warriors stars Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green have nothing but respect for Myers. He has also given extensions to Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins.
In addition to Myers, the Warriors are also planning to extend Kerr's contract. The four-time champion coach has two more years left on his deal, but the team wants to secure him for a much longer term.
Bob Myers needs to improve Golden State Warriors roster once again
The Golden State Warriors didn't anticipate that they would have a lot of problems this season. However, Bob Myers is tasked once again with building a roster good enough to defend the championship. The team has no issues on the offensive end, but they need to improve their depth and defense.
The Warriors have already been linked with several players this season, including Saddiq Bey, Kelly Olynyk, DeMar DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl, Jae Crowder and Myles Turner. All these players would improve the team's depth, but Golden State may need to part ways with their young prospects.
James Wiseman has struggled and got sent to the NBA G League. Moses Moody has shown glimpses of his potential but still can’t earn consistent minutes. Jonathan Kuminga is slowly getting into the groove, but the Warriors are missing Gary Payton II, Otto Porter Jr. and Nemanja Bjelica.
With the season reaching its halfway point next month, the Warriors will need to decide whether they want to stick with their current roster or make some improvements.
